    2. From The Oak Ridger 31 May 2004 Mary E. Daubenspeck, 69, of Oak Ridge Barbara E. Mercer, 57, of Rockwood, formerly of Oak Ridge, Janette Nuchols Gray Aline Turner, 61, of Clinton, Terry L. Hacker, 57, of Oliver Springs Mary E. Daubenspeck, 69, of Oak Ridge died Thursday, May 27, 2004, at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Her family described Daubenspeck as a loving mother and grandmother. She loved to decorate bears, do crafts and was very artistic. Mrs. Daubenspeck is survived by three daughters, Cherie Daubenspeck and Sarita Retherford, both of Oak Ridge, and Danita Kuhlman of Lawton, Okla; and a son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Debbie Daubenspeck of Lawton, Okla. Additional survivors include three sisters, Edna Hale of Checota, Okla., and Voycie Moro and Nina Kelley, both of Brokenarrow, Okla.; and six grandchildren, Billy Kuhlman, Amanda Denham, Adrienne Childers, Holly Retherford, Lacy Daubenspeck and Derreck Daubenspeck. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 29, 2004, in the chapel of Jones Mortuary in Clinton with the Rev. Donnie Disney officiating. Barbara E. Mercer, 57, of Rockwood, formerly of Oak Ridge, died Tuesday, May 25, 2004, at Baptist Hospital West in Knoxville after a battle with cancer. Born in Cheverly, Md., she was the daughter of Maurice Kelly, now deceased, and Blanche Buckner Kelly of Dandridge. In addition to her mother, she is survived by two daughters, Theresa Vincent of Rockvale and Maria Mercer of Clinton; three sisters, Joyce Platt and husband, George, of Dandridge, Jane Marengo and husband, Tony, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Linda Stansberry and husband, Jim, of Clinton; her brother, Tom Kelly and wife, Gina, of Ocala, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Nichole, Amanda, Daniel, Joey, Briana, Katelyn, Bradley and Matthew; many nieces, nephews and her beloved family of friends at Mountain View Church of Christ in Rockwood; and by her special friends, Betty Nelson and John Swafford. A memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at Mountain View Church of Christ in Rockwood with the Rev. John Swafford officiating. The family requests any memorials be in the form of contributions to Mountain View Church of Christ for the Barbara Mercer Memorial Fund, 1439 Spring City Highway, Rockwood, TN 37854. Cremation Options Inc. in Knoxville is in charge of arrangements. Janette Nuchols Gray died Thursday, May 27, 2004, at a nursing home in Brandon, Fla. She worked for Union Carbide in Oak Ridge for 40 years and had been retired from there for 10 years. A member of Kern Memorial United Methodist Church in Oak Ridge, she continued to live in Oak Ridge after retirement. Mrs. Gray had recently been living with her daughter and family in Riverview, Fla., when she became ill. Her family said she enjoyed reading, walking and visiting with friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hensley and Reva Nuchols; a son, Robert Gray; and two brothers, Ted and Leroy Nuchols. Mrs. Gray is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Susan Gray Varela and husband J.M. of Riverview, Fla.; daughter, Sandra Gray of Oak Ridge; five grandchildren, Joey Gray of Knoxville, Miranda Miller of Savannah, Ga., Christopher Horton of Maryville and Nick and Katie Varela of Riverview, Fla. The family will receive friends at Smith Mortuary in Maryville from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 31, 2004. A memorial service will be held noon Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at Kern Memorial United Methodist Church in Oak Ridge with interment to follow at Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery in Maryville. Smith Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Aline Turner, 61, of Clinton, died Thursday, May 27, 2004, at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Mrs. Turner was a member of Dixon Avenue Baptist Church of Eaglewood. Her family said she loved to work jigsaw puzzles, color and loved her dog, Lady. Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Dovie Bunch; three brothers, Memphis Bunch, Cleathe Bunch and Jerry Bunch; four sisters, Stella Bunch, Carolyn Faye Bunch, Pauline Bunch Garrison and Charlene Bunch Jeffers. She is survived by her husband, Roy "Tom" Turner; her daughter, Cherie Phillips and husband, Buster, of Clinton; two sons, Tim Turner and wife, Susie, of Littleton, Colo. and Jimmy Turner and wife, Sherry, of Etowah; two brothers, Raven Bunch and wife, Geneva, of Marlow and Jesse Bunch and wife, Frankie, of Clinton; four sisters, Lillie Doyle and husband, Bo, of Miamisburg, Ohio, Dora Jeffers and husband, David, of Clinton, Irene Bunch and Geraldine Elliott and husband, Mackie, all of Etowah. Mrs. Turner is also survived by seven grandchildren, Chris Turner, Heather Turner and Tom Turner, all of Littleton, Colo., Thomas Phillips, April and husband, Carl, of Clinton; Clint Hyde and Brett Turner, both of Etowah and two great-grandchildren, Mallory Duncan and Alex Duncan of Clinton; and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services were held on Sunday, May 30, 2004, in the chapel of Jones Mortuary in Clinton with the Rev. David White officiating. Burial followed at Sunset Cemetery in Clinton. Terry L. Hacker, 57, of Oliver Springs died Saturday, May 29, 2004, at his home.
