From The Knoxville News Sentinel 31 May 2004 DUFF, CHARLSIE - age 80 of LaFollette, FOWLER, HAROLD E. - age 79, HUTCHISON, WILLIAM (BILL) - age 72 of Andersonville, JOHNSON, CHARLES D. - age 66, of LaFollette, LOWE, EARL DOUGLAS "DOUG" DUFF, CHARLSIE - age 80 of LaFollette, passed away Sunday, May 30, 2004 at the St. Mary's of Campbell Co. Mrs. Duff was a member of Ford Town Baptist Church & she loved to read. She was the wife of Floyd Duff. Funeral 8 p.m. Monday, Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. David Hicks officiating. Interment 1 p.m. Tuesday Woodlawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday before funeral at Martin Wilson Funeral Home, LaFollette. FOWLER, HAROLD E. - age 79, of North Knoxville passed away Saturday May 29, 2004. He was a very active member of Dutch Valley Church of God having held many different positions in the church. For many years, Mr. Fowler and his late wife had served as foster parents for the Church of God Home for Children. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during World War II on the USS Mississippi and a retired Plasti-Line fabricator. He was preceded in death by: his wife of 57 years, Margaret Brown Fowler. He is survived by: his daughters & sons-in-law, Pam and David Lane of Erwin, TN, Karen and Wayne Casteel of Knoxville, and Patty and Mike Scarborough of Knoxville; grandchildren, Jennifer Ross and husband, Wes, Lisa Lane and fiancé, Justin Williams, Sgt. Chris Cruze, Lindsay Lane, Jonathan Cruze, Shane Rynes, Kelly Rynes, and Eric Fowler; great grandson, Zachary Rynes; brother & sister-in-law, Robert & Ella Fowler of Knoxville; sister, Ruth Fowler of Knoxville; sister-in-law, Lou Ella Byous; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6:00-7:30 p.m. Wednesday followed at 7:30 p.m. by the funeral service at Dutch Valley Church of God with Bishop J. L. (Corky) Alexander officiating. Family and friends will meet at the main entrance to Highland Memorial Cemetery Thursday for an 11:00 a.m. interment service with military honors presented by the Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Smoky Mountain Children's Home. Arrangements by Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel. HUTCHISON, WILLIAM (BILL) - age 72 of Andersonville, passed away Saturday May 29, 2004. Member of Byrams Fork Baptist Church. Preceded in death by: wife, Ruth Hutchison. Survivors: daughter & son-in-law, Ramona & Eddie Martin; grandchildren, Blake & Paige Martin; brother, Lee Hutchison; sister, Irene Farrington; several nieces & nephews & other friends & family. Service 8 pm Tuesday Mynatt Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Charles Warwick officiating. Family & friends will meet 10:45 am Wednesday at New Loyston Memorial Gardens for interment at 11 am. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at Mynatt Funeral Home. JOHNSON, CHARLES D. - age 66, of LaFollette, passed away Friday, May 28, 2004 at Ft. Sanders Regional Hospital in Knoxville. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 31st from 6 to 8 pm at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City with funeral service at 8:00 pm in the Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Arnold officiating. Interment will be Tuesday, June lst at 11:00 am at Harmon Cemetery in Lake City. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City in charge of arrangements. LOWE, EARL DOUGLAS "DOUG" went to be with our Heavenly Father on Sunday May 30, 2004. Born in Knoxville on October 12, 1929, he was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, served time in the Air Force and retired from the structural steel business. After retirement, he worked at Kinko's at The Gallery where he made many friends. Preceded in death by: a brother, Arthur Lowe; and his parents, Earl and Naomi Lowe. Survived by family: wife, Dorothy Lowe; children, Terrie and husband Charles Merriman; Allen and wife Dotty Lowe, Alvin and wife Kim Lowe; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sisters Wanda Vance, Deanna Boody and Margie Honeycutt; several nieces, nephews and special friends. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 at Highland Memorial 5315 Kingston Pike. Family and friends will meet at Highland Memorial Cemetery on Wednesday for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service.
