Allen was a member of Laurel Grove Baptist Church of Briceville, Tenn. He loved to do art, and paint. He was preceded in death by father, Edward Eugene Swicegood; grandparents, Rev. Henry & Bernice Duncan; 2 uncles, Wymer Duncan & Stanley Duncan; aunt, Virginia M. Duncan; mother in law, Doris Brewer; cousin, Stanley Wayne Duncan. Survivors: wife, Betsy Swicegood of Knoxville; mother, Faye Patterson & C.L. Patterson of Briceville; daughters, Page Swicegood, Monique Dowell both of Knoxville; brothers, Dale Henry Swicegood of Briceville; nephew, Jordan Swicegood of Briceville; niece, Kim Swicegood of Briceville; aunts, Jewel Henderson of Briceville, Evelyn Baker of Knoxville, Norma Wheeler of Briceville, Delores & husband, Allen Wiley of Ga.; uncle, Glenus Duncan of Hammond, Ind.; brothers in law, Dale Brewer & wife, Gail of Fla., Barry Burson & wife, Linda of Knoxville, Mark Smith of Sunbright; sister in law, Toni Brewer of Sunbright; special grandparents, Frank & Carolyn Burson of Knoxville; and host of other nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be 8 p.m. on Tuesday May 11, 2004 in the chapel of Jones Mortuary in Clinton, Tenn. with the Rev. David White & Rev. Danny Ogle officiating. The interment will be Wednesday May 12, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the New Gray Cemetery in Knoxville. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday May 11 at Jones Mortuary in Clinton prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Jones Mortuary 375 N. Main St. Clinton, Tenn. 37716.
