Kathy: Is there any info/details for a John and Mary who divorced March 18, 1886? Also, is there a divorce record/details for a Bettie Wright or Bettie/Elizabeth Riggs and Neil S. Brown Boshears? It would be around 1900 plus or minus five years? Bob had posted the following for me a few months ago: "Bettie Wright - She is mentioned in the divorce of Tennie Hatmaker vs John Hatmaker, May 24, 1900. Tennie accused John of commiting adultry with Betty Wright." If this is the Bettie Wright I'm thinking of, she was Elizabeth Riggs who'd married Robert James Wright in 1881. I believe they may have divorced (or he died about the end of 1897--he sold to Elizabeth the home and land in Campbell Co. for a dollar in May of 1897) and she married Neil August 21, 1898. However in the 1900 census she's using the name Wright again and no husband found. Family lore said her youngest child, who died of TB at the age of 25 (and was born Nov. 1900!), was a product of either a love affair or rape. *sigh* This family is a hard one to track! Thanks for volunteering!!!!! Bonnie
Bonnie, If you will give me your email address, I may have some info that I don't want to post to this list.
