Kathy: I was so happy to receive the article you sent, that I failed to notice the date. Our William "Bill" Smiddy, would have been, liking 2 months, 29 years old in 1933. The article says he was 23. His death certificate states his age in 1941, at the time of his electrocution for murder, as 37years, 3 months, 19 days. That is a big difference in ages between the two Bill Smiddys, and if he were taken to jail in Williamsburg, would they have kept him there for all those years? He was only in the Kentucky State Penitentiary for 9 months and 1 day before they killed him. I am wondering now if this is a different William "Bill" Smiddy. It is strange though, that it happened in the same area in which our Bill Smiddy was born and raised. Do you have any follow-up articles that might mention the details of the trial and outcome of the case, or maybe who his parents were? Elizabeth
