She was a member of the Fincastle Church of God. Preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Verna McLain; brother, Jessie Ray McLain; sister, Sandra Forth. Survivors include her daughters, Joan M. Bray and husband, Earl of LaFollette, Suzanne Evans and husband, Gene of Brooksville, FL; sons, Harold Eversgerd, Collinsville, IL and Michael Cote and wife, Sharon of Brooksville, FL; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several other relatives and friends. Funeral services were April 27 at Fincastle Church of God with Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Interment was at Powell Valley Cemetery and Memorial Gardens. Walters Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Gilbert L. Carson age 76 of LaFollette died April 26, at St. Mary's Residential Hospice in Knoxville. Preceded in death by his wife, Betty Carson; parents, Austin and Ida Carson; sister, Pauline West. He was former Chairman of the Campbell County Republican Party, a fifty year member of the Jellico Masonic Lodge #527 F. & A.M., and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his daughter, Melinda Powers and husband, Richard of Clinton; sons, Rick Carson and wife, Elaine of Hixson, Danny Carson and wife, Christine of LaFollette, James Carson and wife, Becky of Springsboro, OH, and Roger Carson and wife, Sara of Cleveland, Tn; 10 grandchildren; brother, Delmon Carson of Louisville, KY; special friends, Frank C. Agee and Arnold Ray Poteet, and longtime neighbors Millard and Cleo Queener all of LaFollette; several other relatives and friends. Funeral services were April 28 at Walters Chapel with Rev. Bobby Ray Wilson and Rev. Larry Russell officiating. Interment will be today (April 29) at 10 a.m. at Campbell Memorial Gardens In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be sent to the St. Mary's Residential Hospice, 7447 Andersonville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37938. She was a member of the Indian Creek Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Farmer; sons, J.C., J.D. and Bobby Joe Farmer; parents, John and Sally Mowell; brother, Robert Mowell; sister, Nettie Rains. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Terry Miller of Jacksboro; daughters, Mary Ruth Daugherty and Rosa Lee Farmer both of LaFollette; 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; brother, Hubert Farmer of LaFollette; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Edward Lynn Gilbert, age 71 of Lake City died April 20 at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was born September 10, 1932 in Sevier County to the late White and Arletta Benson Gilbert. He was a member of the Valley Grove Baptist Church in Seymour. He loved flea markets, auctions and spending time with his family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his wife, M. Carolyn Gilbert, Lake City; sons, Lynn Gilbert and wife, Donna, Seymour, Lynn Nelson, Lake City, Jay Nelson, Asheville, NC; daughters, Jody Stone and husband, Scott, Knoxville, Debbie Bridges and husband, J.R., Lake City; sisters, Mary Manis, Seymour, Kathryn Trentham and husband, Melvin, Maryville, Polly Trentham and husband, Ira, Maryville; brother-in-laws, Jim Bowman and wife Judy, Marion, NC, C.W. Trent, Knoxville; grandchildren, Sabrina, Leslie Ann, Amy, Mikey, Chelsey and Cris; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Funeral services were April 22 at Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Anna Heatherly, age 63 of LaFollette died April 20 at the Claiborne County Nursing Home. She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Charles Owen and Mackie Mae Goins Rogers; sisters, Margaret Epperson and Nancy Peters; brother, Walter Rogers. Survivors include her husband, Bill Heatherly; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Robbie Bragg; son, David Heatherly all of LaFollette; four grandchildren; one great grandson: brother, Ronnie Mack Rogers of Jacksboro; and a host of other loving family members. Funeral Services were April 22 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Jack Goins, Rev. Ed Smiddy and Rev. Ovid Bolton officiating. Interment was in Wells Springs Cemetery. She received a B.S. and M.S. degree from the University of Tennessee. Among other interest she pursued and received a Business and Stenographic certificate and attended Dale Carnegie Public Speaking and foreign language classes. She was a devoted classroom teacher and a Title I Supervisor for 38 years in the Campbell County Schools. After retirement in 1973 she remained active as a church and choir member. She enjoyed oil and china painting, reading and she was a strong advocate for the poor, helpless and needy. She had a great love for animals. Preceded in death by her parents, James R. Nelson and Birdy Goins Nelson; brothers, Clarence Otis Nelson, Lloyd Clifton Nelson, Cecil Clayton Nelson; sister, Dorothy Opal Nelson. Survivors include her son, Harold Nelson Kennedy, Middletown, Oh; brother, James Carl Nelson, Clinton; sister, Bonnie Kent, Sun City, Az; special cherished friends, Debbie Horne and family and Jane and Gerald McFarland. Nelson Lee Mitchell age 73 of LaFollette died April 23 at St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. He was born August 20, 1930 in Fleming County, KY. He was a member of Glade Springs Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his son, Ernest Lee Mitchell; parents, E.V. and Jewell Mitchell; brother John William Nelson Lee Mitchell age 73 of LaFollette Mitchell. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Mitchell of LaFollette; daughters, Jeannie Courtney, Deanna Glandon and husband Robert all of LaFollette; stepdaughter, Gail Harmon and husband, Archie of Andersonville; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brothers, Melvin Mitchell of Maysville, KY, Eugene Mitchell of Kansas City, MO, Newell Mitchell, Xenia, OH, and Jewell Mitchell of Erlanger, KY sister, Francis Kimmerly of Dayton, OH; daughter-in-law, Debbie Mitchell of Goshen, OH; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Walters Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. David Elliott Sanborn, age 35 of LaFollette died April 24 at his home. Preceded in death by his father, Charles Sanborn. Survivors include his wife, Tammy Sanborn, LaFollette; son, Elliott James Sanborn, LaFollette; mother, Jimmie Dill, Al; brother, Doug Sanborn, Miss.; sister, Debbie Martinez, San Bernardino, Ca; a host of other relatives and friends. She was born July 10, 1972 in Anderson County. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake City. Preceded in death by her grandmothers, Willie Carden and Mildred McKamey; grandfather, Kyle McKamey; brother, Michael McKamey. Survivors include her mother, Carolyn Sue Carden McKamey; father, Charles Leo McKamey; grandfather, Condy Carden; brother, Jason McKamey; sisters, Tammy Burress, Kimberly McKamey; children, Danny Braswell, Brandon Braswell, Cody Braswell, Brianna McKamey, and Ashley Seiber. Funeral services were April 27 at Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian Courtney and Rev. Lonnie Dison officiating. Interment was in the Leach Cemetery. Preceded in death by his wife, Helen Jean O'Neal Vinsant; brothers, Joe Vinsant, Lake City, Vance Vinsant, Opalaka, FL; sister, Isadora Nelson, Jacksboro. Survivors include his sisters, Mary Ellen Allen, Eliza Hutson and Katy Daugherty, all of Jacksboro; brother, Major Robert D. Vinsant, Gladstone, VA; numerous nieces and nephews. Survivors include his sons, James Ernest Willis and Michael Willis both of LaFollette, Greg Willis of Heiskell; daughters, Lisa Willis Clear of Duff and Melisha Willis Smith of LaFollette; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brother, Charles H.
