From The Knoxville News Sentinel 1 Jun 2004 HACKER, TERRY L. - HUTCHISON, WILLIAM (BILL) - age 72 of Andersonville, ROSENBALM, ZORROW - age 92, of Heiskell, HACKER, TERRY L. - Prominent Educator and Roane County Commissioner, age 57, passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 29, 2004 at his home in Oliver Springs. Mr. Hacker had been the Principal of Oliver Springs High School for the past ten years, but had been in education since his first teaching position with McMinn County Schools in 1968. Using his Undergraduate Degree in Mathematics, Masters in Mathematics Education, and Specialist Degree in Administration and Supervision from the University of Tennessee, he introduced many innovative and progressive technological systems and programs to Oliver Springs High School (OSHS), which was the first school in Roane County to be heavily involved with computer laboratories. Many of his students are now Technology Coordinators and Teachers in the surrounding school systems. He also initiated student participation of OSHS students at the Saturday Academy of Science and Mathematics through Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He was and avid sports fan and supporter of the University of Tennessee. He was often quoted as saying "his blood ran bright orange". After graduating from OSHS in 1965, he dedicated his life to helping the academic standards of OSHS. He helped many of his students emotionally, spiritually, and financially to obtain higher education. Since 1982, he had served the 2nd District of Roane County as one of its representatives on the Roane County Commission. He had served as Commission Chairman, Chairman of the Budget Committee, and on various other county committees. As a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Oliver Springs, he had served as both a pianist and organist during the last 14 years. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed but he was committed to sharing his testimony of knowing the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior and his assurance of his final destination. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Leonard and Ola Hacker; and a brother-in-law, Herbert Bradshaw. He is survived by: his sister, Mary Edna Bradshaw; his brothers, Ronnie Hacker, Erik Garkovich "the son he never had"; and uncle and aunt, Alex and Evelyn Hacker of Corpus Christi, Texas; and a special cousin, Alexis Scholtz of Seattle, Washington; nieces and nephews, Ronnie Hacker, Jr. and wife Gwen, Renee Hacker, Regina Hacker Viau and husband Jeff, Adam Hacker, Steve Bradshaw, Karen Cardwell, Anna Marie Singleton and husband David; and several cousins, great nieces and nephews and one great great niece. The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church of Oliver Springs from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2. The funeral service will follow with the Reverend Larry Duke and the Reverend Todd Johnson officiating. Burial will take place at 12 noon on Thursday, June 3 at the Anderson Memorial Gardens. The family has requested in lieu of flowers that memorial gifts be made to the Terry L. Hacker Scholarship Fund, in c/o Citizens First Bank, 105 Gail Lane, Oliver Springs, TN 37840. Survivors: daughter & son-in-law, Ramona & Eddie Martin; grandchildren, Blake & Paige Martin; brother, Lee Hutchison; sister, Irene Farrington; several nieces & nephews & other friends & family. Service 8 pm Tuesday Mynatt Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Charles Warwick officiating. Family & friends will meet 10:45 am Wednesday at New Loyston Memorial Gardens for interment at 11 am. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at Mynatt Funeral Home. ROSENBALM, ZORROW - age 92, of Heiskell, TN, passed away Sunday, May 30, 2004 at the Lake City Health Care Center. He was a member of Deep Springs Baptist Church. Preceded in death by: father, F.A. Rosenbalm; mother, Maggie Williams Rosenbalm; sister, Fossie Cox; sister, Dossie Nelson; and sons, J.K. and Vaughn H. Rosenbalm. He is survived by: his loving wife of 69 years, Georgia Fraker Rosenbalm; sons and daughters-in-law, Wheeler A. and Betty Rosenbalm and Wendell L. and Linda Rosenbalm; brothers and sisters-in-law, Fletcher and Reba Rosenbalm and Rev. J.O. and Mary Rosenbalm; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. The graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at Sartin Cemetery with the Rev. Allen Giles officiating.
