    2. From The Oak Ridger 10 Jun 2004 Ralph Hayes Daugherty, 82, of Oliver Springs, Alma Lucille "Lucy" Ellis, 37, of Oak Ridge, Bobbie Lamb Harris of Talbott Clifford R. Burchfield Sr., 68, of Oak Ridge, Oma Jones, 90, of Clinton, Ralph Hayes Daugherty, 82, of Oliver Springs, died Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, due to congestive heart failure. Born June 19, 1921, in the New River community in Devonia, he was the son of Harvey and Dina Coker Daugherty. Mr. Daugherty was a graduate of Norris High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country during World War II, in Company A 239th Engineering Construction Battalion. He was an expert marksman receiving three Bronze Service Stars for bravery and courage while serving as an infantryman in the Philippines Liberation. In addition to the Bronze Service Stars, Mr. Daugherty also received a World War II Victory Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon and the Philippines Liberation Ribbon. He married Pauline Seiber Daugherty on May 11, 1946, making their home in Oliver Springs, where they owned and operated Daugherty Motor Company & Wrecker Service for 58 years. He was also a real estate broker from 1979 to 1989. Mr. Daugherty was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, but attended First Baptist Church in Oliver Springs. He was also a charter member of the Oliver Springs Lions Club. His three brothers, Clifton Leigh, Ova Daugherty and Harvey Wilmeth Daugherty; four sisters, Vivian Leigh, Nora Stooksbury, Sophia Cox and Lena Daugherty; and two special lifelong friends, Verldon Coker and Dean Adcox, also died earlier. In addition to his wife, Mr. Daugherty is survived by his daughter, Vikki Jackson Whitfield, of Atlanta, Ga.; three grandchildren, Shawn Jackson and wife, Amanda, of Coalfield, Kathy Cahill and husband, Michael, of Fort Myers, Fla., and Paul Whitfield of Oliver Springs; two special great-grandchildren, Wyatt Jackson and Hannah Jackson, both of Coalfield; a sister, Mauriece Stooksbury, of Clinton; and by several friends and extended family members. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2004, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs with the Rev. Ralph Wilson and the Rev. Archie Seiber officiating. A graveside service will be at noon Friday, June 11, at Bethel Cemetery in Clinton. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Alma Lucille "Lucy" Ellis, 37, of Oak Ridge, died Monday, June 7, 2004. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Polland. Mrs. Ellis is survived by her husband, Don Ellis; two sons, Gene Smith and Charles Smith; her daughter, Shanda Smith; two grandchildren; and by her mother, Rita Wier Moulas, all of Oak Ridge. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2004, at Cross Funeral Home in LaFollette with the Rev. Wiseman officiating. Burial will be at noon Saturday, June 12, at Jacksboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Bobbie Lamb Harris of Talbott died Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at her home. Her family said she was a loving mother, sister and friend. Mrs. Harris was a member of Manley Baptist Church in Morristown and a graduate of Rogersville High School and the University of Tennessee. She worked for the Department of Human Services in Morristown and Rutledge since 1976. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther D. Harris; her parents, Bill and Harriett Stuffle Lamb; a brother, James; and by twin infant brothers, Ray Lamb and Randell Lamb. Mrs. Harris is survived by two daughters, Suzy Harris of Knoxville and Brenda Dehart and husband, John, of Rogers, Ark.; two sons, D'Armond Harris and wife, Billie, of Carlisle, Ohio, and Doug Harris of Maryville; and by three grandchildren, Ashley Harris and Craig Harris, both of Carlisle, and Anton Dehart of Rogers. She is also survived by six sisters, Jo Hardin and husband, Harold, of Portland, Eula Henry and husband, Ron, Charlcie Fletcher and husband, Sonny, and Tina Russell and husband, Ralph, all of Rogersville, Frances Moore and husband, Sam, of Oak Ridge, and Mary Price and husband, Earl, of Whitesburg; three brothers, Dana Lamb and wife, Jodia, John Lamb and wife, Jean, and Harold "Tommy" Lamb and wife, Sheila, all of Rogersville; her sister-in-law, Johnnie Lamb, of Rogersville; three aunts, Venie Antrican of Oak Ridge, Della Gass of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Kathleen Graham of Ootewah; her late husband's brothers and sisters, Bonnie Sherrill of Sparta, Dwight Harris of Goodells, Mich., Christine Harris of Whitesburg and Jimmie and Marquerite Harris of Bulls Gap; and by many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2004, at Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown with the Rev. Dr. Richard Emert officiating. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 11, at Courtney Cemetery in Hawkins County. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Clifford R. Burchfield Sr., 68, of Oak Ridge, died Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at his home. Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs is in charge of arrangements, which were incomplete at presstime. Oma Jones, 90, of Clinton, died Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
