    2. From The Oak Ridger 21 Jun 2004 Lillie Bible, 80, of the Joyner community, Isaac Charles Thomas Corbin, Carrie Lee Holder Foster, 87, of Clinton, Mary J. "Mae" Glynn, 94, of Oak Ridge, Ralph Marks Moon Jr., 74, of Oak Ridge, Velma Milam Newton, 88, of Oak Ridge, Walter B. Rainey, 79, of Oliver Springs, Lillie Bible, 80, of the Joyner community, died Thursday, June 17, 2004, at the Lifecare Center of Morgan County. She was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nelson and Minnie Roberson Bowers; her husband, James Harrison Bible; and by a granddaughter, Teri Lynn Bible. Mrs. Bible is survived by six sons, James W. and wife, Karen, of Spring City, Douglas M. and wife, Patricia, of Dover, Donald W. and wife, Kathy, and Roy Dale and wife, Cheri, all of Wartburg, Coy Lee and wife, Sherri, of Knoxville and Roger Allen and wife, Elizabeth, of Coalfield; her step-daughter, Earlene Singlton Gregory, of Harriman; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her brother, Francis Bowers; and by her sister, Rosie Colvin. The funeral was Saturday, June 19, 2004, in the chapel of Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg with David Kunsman officiating. A graveside service was Sunday, June 20, at Anderson Memorial Gardens in Clinton. Isaac Charles Thomas Corbin, born June 14, 2004, weighing 7 pounds, 7 ounces, and measuring 21 inches long, died Friday, June 18, 2004, after a brave fight to survive. He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Ruthelda Duncan and Jordan and Sybil Humphrey, and by his paternal great-grandparents, Charlie and Edna Corbin. He is survived by his parents, Charles "Chuck" Corbin and Kimberly Humphrey Corbin, of the Coal Hill community of Morgan County; his maternal grandparents, Richie and Ginger Humphrey, of the Coal Hill community; his paternal grandparents, Randy and Judy Haynes of Rockwood and Richard Corbin Sr. of Knoxville; and by his great-grandparents, Jewell Duncan of the Boswell Chapel community of Morgan County and James Givens and Thula Edwards of Rockwood. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles and cousins, a multitude of friends and neighbors and by a church family who loved him. Isaac's family would like to thank everyone who prayed for him. The funeral was Sunday, June 20, 2004, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs with the Rev. Keith Allen officiating. Clinch Ave., Knoxville, TN 37916. Carrie Lee Holder Foster, 87, of Clinton, died Thursday, June 17, 2004, at Lake City Health Care Center. Born July 4, 1916, in Morgan County, she was the daughter of William and Mary Jane Laymance. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luke Foster; six brothers, Bill Holder, Hill Holder, Roscoe Holder, Kenneth Holder, Dennis Holder and Frank Holder; a half brother, Steve Holder; and by a sister, Bess Sexton. Mrs. Foster is survived by two sisters-in-law, Desta Holder of Heiskell and Katie Holder of Clinton; a half sister, Ruby Tudor, of Clinton; five half brothers, Jim Holder of Claxton, William Holder, John Holder and Henry Holder, all of Nashville, and Ronnie Barnes of New Market; three nieces, Diane, Mary Lou and Judy; and by three nephews, Dennis Jr., Kenneth and Ray. A graveside service was Saturday, June 19, 2004, at Norris Memorial Garden with Harold Cox officiating. Dennis Holder, John Floyd, David Ezell, Virgil Wadell, Kenneth Wayne Holder and Jack Osborne served as pallbearers. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton was in charge of arrangements. Mary J. "Mae" Glynn, 94, of Oak Ridge, widow of Thomas "Scotty" Glynn, died Saturday, June 19, 2004, at Briarcliff Health Care Center. Born Jan. 8, 1910, in Scranton, Pa., she was the daughter of Walter and Felicia Sowinski Wilchiniski, and resided in Bridgeport, Conn., and Stratford, Conn., from 1934 to 1993. Mrs. Glynn retired from Warner Brothers in Bridgeport, where she worked as a seamstress, and was a homemaker for many years before moving to Oak Ridge in 1993. She was a parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Wilchinski and Stanley Wilchinski, and by two sisters, Helen Wilchinski and Valerie Hopp. Mrs. Glynn is survived by two daughters, Carol M. Sauer and husband, Richard "Hank," of Oak Ridge, with whom she lived, and Nancy J. Boyle of Bridgeport; two grandchildren, Alison Chain and husband, Tim, of Oak Ridge and Thomas Sauer of Charleston, S.C.; three great-grandchildren, Brandee Chain, Sara Chain and Daniel Chain, of Oak Ridge; and by several nieces and nephews. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church at a later date and burial will be at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport. Ralph Marks Moon Jr., 74, of Oak Ridge, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at his home. A memorial service will be at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2004, at the Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church. Born July 9, 1915, in Coal City, Ala., she was the daughter of Charles Crandle Milam and Leola Veazy Milam. Mrs. Newton was the widow of Samuel Leon Newton, who died Feb. 3, 1996. She and her husband came to Oak Ridge in July 1941, where she worked at various jobs, including selling Avon. She and her husband attended various churches in Oak Ridge and became members of Community Church, which is now Oak Ridge Alliance Church and later, Trinity United Methodist Church. According to her family, her favorite pastime was reading. Additionally, she and her husband made plaster figurines that they gladly gave away. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Flora Bice, Lois Bond and Rosella Brazier. Mrs. Newton is survived by two sons, Harold D. Newton and wife, Mary Lois, of Knoxville and N. Kenneth Newton and wife, Brenda, of Powell, and by six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Monday, June 21, 2004, at Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Dale Crank officiating. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family requests any memorials be in the form of contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, 2200 Sutherland Ave., Knoxville, TN 37919.
