From The Oak Ridger 3 June 04 Cecil Ray Aulton, 49, of Clinton, Jerry Brown, 41, of Greeneville, Virginia "Ginny" Lorraine Cloutier Harold Edward Cornell, 90, of Oak Ridge, Frederic Wayne Guymon, 58, Cecil Ray Aulton, 49, of Clinton, died Monday, May 31, 2004. He was an estimator for Joseph Construction Co. for approximately 28 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil H. and N. Marie Wilkerson Aulton, and by a brother, Ernest Aulton. Mr. Aulton is survived by his brother, John Aulton, of Andersonville; his sister, Donna Manley and husband, Gary, of Clinton; and by two nieces, Heather Manley and Elizabeth Manley. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2004, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 4, at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens on Edgemoor Road in Claxton. William Jefferson Bayless, of Oak Ridge, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Baptist Hospital West in Knoxville. The son of Thomas Wyatt and Jessie Augusta Tillery Bayless, he was born May 21, 1915, in Inskip. Mr. Bayless was a member of the first football team of Powell High School, where he graduated. According to his family, he received a scholarship to play football at the University of Tennessee, but declined, opting to marry instead. His family said he remained an avid Vols fan throughout his life. A member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, he retired from Southern Railway. Later in life, he worked as an engineer for U.S. Sugar in Clewiston, Fla. He was a member of The Church at Sterchi Hill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Edward, J. C. "Cart," Reece and Ralph, and by his daughter from his first marriage, Barbara Pruitt. Mr. Bayless is survived by his third wife, Lucille Coleman Bayless, of NHC HealthCare of Oak Ridge; two daughters from his second marriage, Linda Bayless of Kingston and Kay Anne Turner of Oak Ridge; two sisters, Helen McElroy of Powell and Louise Boyd of Chattanooga; a brother, LeRoy Bayless of Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Pruitt of Knoxville, Suzanne Pruitt Ryan of Daytona Beach, Fla., Ian Edwards of Charlotte, N.C., and Luke Edwards, Elise Edwards, Haylee Turner and Emily Turner, all of Oak Ridge; one great-granddaughter, Rylee Edwards; and by several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2004, at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens on Edgemoor Road in Claxton for a 10 a.m. graveside service with the Rev. Born Feb. 22, 1963, in Rocky Mount, N.C., he was the son of William Brown and Carolyn Ann Agnew Robinson, both now deceased. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Gerald Brown, in 1993. Mr. Brown is survived by three brothers, Stan Cooper, Richard Cooper and Alvin Brown; his sister, Angela Brown; his nieces and nephews, Brittany Cooper, Albreana Troupe, Rico Brown, Javon Cooper and Alquz Troupe, all of Oak Ridge; three uncles, the Rev. McDaffey Agnew of Corinth, Miss., Harry Agnew of Tupelo, Miss., and Larry Agnew of Atlanta, Ga.; his aunt, Eugenia Parlow and husband, Wayne, of Detroit, Mich.; his grandaunt, Bobbie L. Parham, of Atlanta; his granduncle, Freeman Justice, of Booneville, Miss.; many special friends at the Greene Valley Developmental Center; and by several cousins and extended family members. An online guest book may be signed at www.weatherfordmortuary.com Virginia "Ginny" Lorraine Cloutier died Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. According to her family, Mrs. Cloutier took joy in watching and feeding wild birds and caring for her pets. She touched many lives with her compassion, sense of humors and endless giving, her family said. She was very close to her children and mother, keeping in touch daily. She and her husband met and married in the mid 1950s when both were serving in the U.S. Air Force. She left the service after the couple married and together they raised a son and daughter. Throughout their life together they lived in Asia, Europe and the United States. She was preceded in death by her father, Paul M. Kendig, a grandaunt, Caroline Kendig, and by her husband, Albert Cloutier. Mrs. Cloutier is survived by her mother, Eva Kendig, of Clinton; her son, Ron Cloutier and wife, Donna, of Andersonville; her daughter, Michele Cloutier, of Clinton; and by her grandson, Daniel Fortin, of Clinton. She is also survived by her brother, Paul F. Kendig and wife, Becky, of Clinton; her sister, Betty Lerch and husband, John, of Pennsylvania; her sister-in-law, Claire Cloutier, of California; her brother-in-law, Donald Cloutier and wife, Barb, of New Hampshire; her aunt, Elgarda Daubert, of Pennsylvania; her nephew, David Kendig, of Florida; and by her niece, Barbara Felty, of Pennsylvania. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery, where she will join her husband who died in June 2000. Harold Edward Cornell, 90, of Oak Ridge, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Born Oct. 5, 1913, in Portland, Ore., he was the son of Edward and Cleah Cummings Cornell. Mr. Cornell had been employed with the Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant until his retirement and was a member of First United Methodist Church. His family said he enjoyed working with his hands and was a member of Miniature Group making miniature doll furniture from wood and decorative wrought iron furniture. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Andrew Branner, and by three brothers and one sister. Mr. Cornell is survived by his wife, Sallie Buxton Cornell; his daughter, Sally Wilborn and husband, Thomas, of Carlisle, Pa.; two grandchildren, S. Elizabeth Malloy and husband, Matthew, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Susan Branner and husband, Keith, of Annapolis, Md.; and by three great-grandchildren Luke Malloy, Zachary Branner and William Branner. A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 6, 2004, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park with the Rev. Bob Cantrell officiating. An online guest book may be signed at www.martinoakridgefuneralhome.com Frederic Wayne Guymon, 58, died Thursday, May 27, 2004, after a brief illness of cancer of the pancreas. Born in Kansas City, Mo., he was raised in Oak Ridge. He attended VPI Military school, the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and in the U.S. Army, where he spent 14 months in Korea. He worked at the Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant in the Instrument Engineering Department. Mr. Guymon and his family relocated to Houston, Texas, in 1981, where he joined Fluor Corp. He traveled to several countries for Fluor installing computer systems. One of his favorite countries was Australia, where he spent several weeks, his family said. Mr. Guymon is survived by his wife of 28 years, Shirley; his daughter, Dominy; his son, Cody; his parents, Ralph and Helen Guymon; two brothers, Greg and wife, Sharon, and Ken and wife, Tracy, all of Oak Ridge. He is also survived by seven nieces and nephews, Matt, Jon, William, Cheri, Mason, Morgan and MicKinnon; and by four grandnephews. "Fred's request for an informal period of stargazing at Brazos Bend State Park, where one is reminded, like the stars, one's life is but a single dot in a pointillist's infinite canvas of space and time," his family said. "He loved that park." A memorial service will be Saturday, June 5, at First Baptist Church in Sugar Land, Texas. In addition, the ashes will be brought to East Tennessee and scattered over the Great Smoky Mountains, which his family said he loved.
