From The Knoxville News Sentinel 3 Jun 2004 AULTON, CECIL RAY - age 49, of Clinton, BAYLESS, WILLIAM JEFFERSON of Oak Ridge, BUNCH, KENDELLA (CINDY) MARIE age 42, of the Joyner Community, CLOUTIER, VIRGINIA "GINNY" LORRAINE - EMERT, VICTOR ANDREW - age 79, QUEENER, JOHN GLENN, II. - age 62, of Jellico, AULTON, CECIL RAY - age 49, of Clinton, passed away Monday, June 1, 2004. He was an estimator for Joseph Construction Company for approximately 28 years. Preceded in death by: parents, Cecil H. & N. Marie Wilkerson Aulton; brother, John Aulton of Andersonville; sister, Donna & husband Gary Manley of Clinton; nieces, Heather & Elizabeth Manley. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, June 3, 2004 at Holley-Gamble Funeral home with funeral services following in the Chapel. The interment will be 10:30 am at Woodhaven Memorial Garden. Holley- Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton in charge of all arrangements. BAYLESS, WILLIAM JEFFERSON of Oak Ridge, died June 2, 2004 at Baptist West Hospital in Knoxville. The son of Thomas Wyatt and Jessie Augusta Tillery Bayless, he was born May 21, 1915 in Inskip, TN. He was a member of the first football team of Powell High School, where he graduated. He received a scholarship to play football at the University of Tennessee, but declined, opting to marry instead. He remained an avid Vols fan throughout his life. A member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, he retired from Southern Railway. Later in life, he worked as an engineer for U.S. Sugar in Clewiston, FL. He was a member of The Church at Sterchi Hill. Preceded in death by: his parents; four brothers, Edward, J. C. (Cart), Reece, and Ralph; and his daughter from his first marriage, Barbara Pruitt. He is survived by: his third wife, Lucille Coleman Bayless of NHC Nursing Home in Oak Ridge; two daughters from his second marriage, Linda Bayless of Kingston and Kay Anne Turner of Oak Ridge; two sisters, Helen McElroy of Powell and Louise Boyd of Chattanooga; brother, LeRoy Bayless of Houston, TX; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Pruitt of Knoxville, Suzanne Pruitt Ryan of Daytona Beach, FL, Ian Edwards of Charlotte, NC, Luke Edwards, Elise Edwards, Haylee and Emily Turner of Oak Ridge; one great-granddaughter, Rylee Edwards;and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 a.m. Saturday at Woodhaven Cemetery, Edgemoor Road in Claxton, for a 10:00 a.m. graveside service and interment. Rev. Noel Turner, his son-in-law, will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Stevens Mortuary, on the corner of Oglewood Ave. and N. Broadway. She was a member of Union Baptist Church. She was a devoted supporter of the Petros Joyner School, a supporter of the Morgan County Anchor Club and the Scouting Association. She is survived by: her husband, Rickey Bunch; sons, Adam and Alan Bunch, all of Joyner Community; mother, Penina Owenby of Knoxville; father and step mother, Elmer (Hawkeye) and Carolyn Hawkins of Knoxville; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 3, 2004 from 6-8 pm at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg. Funeral services will begin at 8 pm with Rev. David Kunsman and Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating.
