She was a member of Central Baptist Church, Caryville. Preceded in death by: parents, Bill & Susie Edwards Ferguson; sister, Gladys; husband, Arlice (Sonny) Boshears; & son, James W. Boshears. Survivors: daughter & son-in-law, Sue & Ronnie Lobertini, LaFollette; son & daughters-in-law, Brian & Angie Boshears, Jacksboro; Lou Boshears, Milton, Fla.; grandchildren, Jennifer Boshears Goins, Josh & Travis Boshears all of Jacksboro, Shawna Upshaw,of Katy, TX, Jonathan Boshears, Cantonment, Fla.; great grandchildren, Katlyn & Olivia Goins, Christian, Noah & Alex Upshaw; brother, Billy Ferguson, Lake City; several special nieces & nephews. HAYES, MELDIA M. - age 80 of Jacksboro passed away Sunday, June 20, 2004 at the St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. She was a member of the West Walden Street Church of God. Mrs. Hayes was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Hayes was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was preceded in death by husband: Barton Hayes; parents: James Franklin and Hassie Hicks Norman; brothers: Joe, Jake, and Bill Norman; sister: Eliza Hatfield; daughter-in-law: Dorothy Hayes and son-in- law: Floyd Cook. Mrs. Hayes is survived by sons: James W. Hayes of Powell; Jerry W. Hayes of Jacksboro; daughters: Linda Zehr of Dayton, OH; Norma Cook of Richmond, IN; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 8 PM Tuesday, June 22 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Jasper Walden officiating. Interment will be 11 AM Wednesday in Campbell Memorial Gardens. Member of Lodge #756 F&AM and Union Local #102 of Knoxville and long-time member of Covenant Presbyterian Church of Oak Ridge. Retired in 1981 from Rust Engineering Co. Preceded in death by: daughter-in-law, Linda Young in 1999; and his grandson, John H. E. Young in 1989. Survived by: his wife of 65 years, Mable Armstrong Young; son, William T. Young Jr., of Oak Ridge; daughter, Hallie Woodworth and her husband Carl Woodworth, both of Oak Ridge; grandchildren, Tammy Young, William T. Young III and his wife Tammy L. Young, and Joshua Young, all of Oak Ridge, and Shane Woodworth and his wife Lora of San Jose, CA.; great grandchildren, Jason A. Young, Sara Young, William T. Young IV, Kayce L. Young and Gered Young, all of Oak Ridge and Haley Ann Woodworth and Ariel Star Woodworth of San Jose, CA.; nephew, Donny Young of Pennsylvania and extended family in Mississippi. The funeral will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2004 at 7:00pm at Weatherford Mortuary with Rev. Duncan Rankin of Covenant Presbyterian Church officiating. A Masonic Service will follow at 8:00pm, led by members of Faith Masonic Lodge #756. Graveside services are Friday at 10:00am at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family asks that any memorials be in the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
