Veteran of WWII, serving with the US Navy. Retired in 1974 from the Atomic Energy Commission where he was Assistant Manager of Research and Development. Member of New York Avenue Church of Christ. Preceded in death by: his wife, Pauline Peden Johnson; parents, Ira Otis and Sallie Mohon Johnson and brother, I. O. Johnson, Jr. Survived by: his son, Wesley M. Johnson, Jr. and wife Sheryl Reagan Johnson of Kingston; two grandsons, Scott Johnson and wife Jennifer of Fairfax, VA and Steve Johnson and wife Rachel of Roanoke, VA; and five great grandchildren, Reagan, Cameron, MacKenzie, Casey and Andrew. The funeral service is Thursday, July 1, 2004 at 8:00pm at Weatherford Mortuary with Milton Stanley, James Lampley, Gary Galloway and Harold Scott officiating. A graveside service will be held Friday at 11:00am at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
