Benton, 71, of Powell, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Benton. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dan Benton, of Andesonville, and Mark and Pam Benton, of Oliver Springs; daughters, Cheryl Benton, of Illinois, Carolyn Benton, of New Mexico and Mary Benton, of Clinton; grandchildren, Brandy Benton, Logan Benton, Chris Benton, Mark Benton Jr., Jacob Smith, Wayne Wilder, Ravyn Wilder; step-grandchildren, April and Jada Allen; sister, Betty Thorpe, of Colorado; special friends, Maggie Murray, Ruby Schlandt and Emma Seymore; and many friends of Poplar Creek Baptist Church. The service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, at Woodhaven Funeral Home in Claxton. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27 at the funeral home. Ralph Wayne Crowe, 57, a lifelong resident of Oliver Springs, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004, at his residence. Born September 22, 1946, in Oliver Springs, he was a faithful member of New Mountain View Baptist Church in Oliver Springs. Mr. Crowe was a service technician with C & C Heating & Air of Oliver Springs. He had worked in the trucking industry for many years. He loved raising register Boer goats in his spare time. He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Sexton Crowe. Mr. Crowe is survived by his wife, Maxine Marie Crowe; his daughter, Sherry Marie Manz and husband, Steven, of Oliver Springs; his son, Michael Crowe and wife, Tammy, of Knoxville; his father, Ralph M. Crowe and wife, Betty, of Oliver Springs; two granddaughters, Brandy West, of Coalfield, and Brandy Manz, of Powell; a grandson, Andrew Manz, of Oliver Springs; a sister, Patty Fox and husband, Claude, of Knoxville; a brother, Allen Crowe, and wife, Wanda, of Oliver Springs. He is also survived by a brother-in-law, Walter Barber, of Lake City; three sisters-in-law, Mary Lee Kelly and husband, Robert, of Knoxville, Lorene Barber, of Harriman, Gail Barber, of Harriman; special friend, Jim Braden, of Wartburg; and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs with the Rev. David Crowe officiating. The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28 at Anderson Memorial Gardens. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to the Youth Fund of New Mountain View Baptist, 263 Mahoney Road, Oliver Springs, TN, 37840. Mary Katheryn Davis "Nannie" Nelson, 77, of Kingston, died Thursday morning Aug. 26, 2004, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. She was a member of Morrison Hill Christian Church and a retired secretary from the aintenance Division of Oak Ridge K-25 site. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, according to her family. Mrs. Nelson is survived by her husband of 53 years, Darrell Nelson; her daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Steve Patterson and Darlene and Mike Kolodi, all of Kingston, and Patty and Chris Perry of Cincinnati, Ohio; her grandchildren, Kevin and Mark Patterson, Mitch and Katie Kolodi and Kent Perry; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004, at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with Dennis Mullens and Dr. Roy Graves officiating. A graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 30, at the Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to Morrison Hill Christian Church, Building Fund, 106 Morrison Hill Circle, Kingston, TN 37763. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Fredrick Burnette, 72, of Coalfield, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004, at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.
