From The Knoxville News Sentinel 31 Aug 2004 DAUGHERTY, MARY HELEN - age 69 of Knoxville, FULLER, CARLETTE SARTIN - age 23, of Oak Ridge, HATCHER, HELEN - 77, of Oak Ridge POE, CLYDE F. - age 84 of Clinton, DAUGHERTY, MARY HELEN - age 69 of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2004 at her residence. A member of Emerald Avenue United Methodist Church, she is preceded in death by: her parents, Amos and Stella Jones Gardner; her husband, Bill Daugherty; sisters, Dorothy Campbell and Zelda Gardner; and a brother, James Gardner. Survived by: her sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Jack L. McMillan; several nieces and nephews to include Sybil Doig and Jeffery Campbell. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Highland Memorial Chapel 5315 Kingston Pike. The funeral will follow at 8:00 p.m. conducted by Rev. Robert Bean. FULLER, CARLETTE SARTIN - age 23, of Oak Ridge, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2004, at Methodist Medical Center. She was a member of Light House Baptist Church in Knoxville. Preceded in death by: father, Carl Sartin. Survivors: husband, Chris Fuller of Oak Ridge; mother, Betty Sartin of Knoxville; sisters, Holly & husband Edward Hickman of Powell, Kimberly & husband David Montgomery of Clinton; mother & father-in- law, Sherry & Robert Fuller of Oak Ridge; half-brothers, Bob & wife Lois Sartin of Clinton, Phil & wife Wilma Sartin of Maynardville; 6 nieces; 6 nephews. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday, August 31, 2004 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with funeral services following in the Chapel at 8:00 pm. HATCHER, HELEN - 77, of Oak Ridge died on Saturday August 28, 2004 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Mrs. Hatcher retired from Methodist Medical Center in the Environmental Services Department in 1990. She was born in Monroe, Georgia on October 5, 1926; the daughter of the late Maggielene and John Catlin. Mrs. Hatcher was a charter member of Oak Valley Baptist Church and an early member of Elks Atomic Lodge No. 1301 in Oak Ridge. She enjoyed sports, traveling, listening to gospel music and taking care of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her husband of 59 years, Gus Hatcher; and a son, Henry Anthony Hatcher. She is survived by: three daughters, Dee Dee Hatcher Watkins, Madeline Spratling, and Wynickea D. Hatcher, all of Oak Ridge. She is also survived by three sister-in-laws, Patience Grider of Oak Ridge, Lena Hatcher of Tullahoma, TN, and Lois Catlin of Avon Park, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Larry Spratling, Sharon Spratling, Barbara Spratling, John W. (Vanessa) Spratling, Evette Spratling, Kaylee Hatcher, Torivanno Watkins all of Oak Ridge, and Antonia Herdon of Knoxville; and 12 great grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, including special nieces Karen Catlin of Miami, Fla., and Marsha Catlin of San Diego, Calif. Members of Oak Valley Baptist Church, James "Pig" Mitchell, Gwen Herdon, Teresa Riddle, Lil Moore, and many others were considered special friends. The funeral will be held at 2p.m. Saturday September 4, 2004, at Oak Valley Baptist Church with the Rev Hardil Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. POE, CLYDE F. - age 84 of Clinton, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2004 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was an Army Veteran of WWII. Survived by: wife, Joyce McKamey Poe; daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy Patty and Carl Bolling and Wilda Jean Patty and Robert Stoker; grandchildren, Kimberly and Lori Niemeyer, Adam Stoker, and Amber and Christopher Bolling; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Katie Poe; nephew, Les Poe. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 am Wednesday at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens for a 10 am graveside service.
