ROWLAND, ERNEST-LOU YOUNG - 87, Jonesborough, SYKES, ORIN - of Oak Ridge, BUNCH, CARL THOMAS JR. - age 77 of Knoxville. Member of Chilhowee Hills Baptist Church. Past Master of Lodge 453. Former City Detective; and member of Local 102 Plumber & Steamfitters Union. He is also a United States Naval Veteran. Preceded in death by parents Carl T. Sr. and Edna Key Bunch, brother James E. and wife Yvonne Raye Bunch; brother-in-law H. Kenneth Brock. Survived by wife Glendell Coleman Bunch; brother Wm. Rudolph (Rudy) and wife Shirley; sisters Barbara L. Brock, Linda G. Blanchard and husband Smiley of Mt. Juliet, TN; children: Teresa G. Stubbs and husband Randy, Carl T. Bunch III (Tom), Richard T. Bunch, Steven D. Bunch and wife Kristin Russell Bunch, Carla G. McMillan: step child: Daniel B. Romines and wife Sandra; grandchildren: William Michael Bunch of Georgia, Brandy Stubbs McMahan and husband Jimmy, Tyler Clifton, Hayden McMillan, Casey, Roxanne, Corey and Taylor Bunch, Scott and Eric Romines; great grandchildren: Jessica and Tiffany McMahan; several nieces and nephews; special friends Rev. ROWLAND, ERNEST-LOU YOUNG - 87, Jonesborough, entered into the presence of our Lord on Friday, August 6, 2004 at Johnson City Medical Center. She was the daughter of Ernest L. and Edna Cross Young. Born in Coal Creek, Tenn., she graduated from Clinton High School and attended Sullins College in Bristol. She was a member of the Jonesborough United Methodist Church where she was a faithful choir member of over 50 years, a member of the Wesleyan Sunday school class and the Haynes Circle. She also belonged to the Schubert Club, the Johnson City Lioness Club and was an honorary member of the Lion's Club. Mrs. Rowland was employed by the Washington County School System as secretary for Jonesboro High School for 13 years and David Crockett High School for 8 years until her retirement in 1980. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Michael Young Rowland. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Elmo Rowland; daughter in law, Ann Rowland, Knoxville; sons, David (Sue) Jonesborough, Kent (Janice) Knoxville, Allan (Joan), Lakeland, Fla., Terry (Susan) Knoxville; and daughter, Melinda Christina (Tim); 18 grandchildren; Matthew, Elizabeth, Amanda, Scott, Lea, Susan, Benjamin, Eric, Adam, Michele, Jonathan, Jennifer, John-Michael, Stephanie, Sandy, Tara, Josh and Jack; and one great granddaughter Stephanie. The family will receive friends at Jonesborough United Methodist Church from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Monday, August 9 followed by a service to celebrate her life. Interment will be at Monte Vista Memorial Gardens, Johnson City on Tuesday, August 10 at 12 noon. Her children, whom she bore into this life, will carry her to her early resting place.
