    2. From The Oak Ridger 4 Aug 2004 Robert E. "Bob" Blanton, 67, of Corryton, Marie J. Davis, 80, of Oak Ridge John Luther Wiggins, 89, of Clinton, died Robert E. "Bob" Blanton, 67, of Corryton, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at St. Mary's Medical Center. Mr. Blanton was a member of Graveston Baptist Church in Corryton. He retired from Rohm-Haas Co. after 35 years of service. He was preceded in death by his father, Elbert G. Blanton and a brother, Ronald Gordon Blanton. Mr. Blanton is survived by his wife of 22 years, Brenda Warren Blanton; a son, David Blanton; a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Michelle Brewer; and his mother, Leona Blanton of Oak Ridge. He is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Jerry Shelton of Seymour; a sister-in-law, Pat Blanton of Oak Ridge; his mother-in-law, Helen Warren; a sister- and brother-in-law, the Rev. Johnnie and Pat Beeler; six grandchildren, Ashley, Taylor, Addision, Amber and Keesha Blanton, and Caity Brewer; and by several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at Graveston Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Kitts and the Rev. Johnnie Beeler officiating. Music will be by Heart Felt. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, at Graveston Baptist Church cemetery. Family members and friends are to meet at 10:15 a.m. at Mynatt Funeral Home in Knoxville for procession to the church. Warren Beeler, Wesley Beeler, Jason Blanton, Geff Davis, Greg Davis, Jerry Shelton, Darrell Canupp and Larry Richardson will serve as pallbearers. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to Graveston Baptist Church Building Fund, 8328 Clapps Chapel Road, Corryton, TN 37721. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Marie J. Davis, 80, of Oak Ridge died Saturday, July 31, 2004, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Born Aug. 16, 1923, in Selma, Ala., she was the daughter of John Henry and Nannie Jackson. Known affectionately as "Dut," she was the widow of Marvin Davis. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family. She was a member of Oak Valley Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother, Rose Mary Nichols, Margaret Powell and Roosevelt Jackson. Mrs. Davis is survived by two sons, Terry S. Davis and Mark S. Davis, both of Oak Ridge; a grandson, Markie of Oak Ridge; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at Oak Valley Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Hardil Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the church. Unity Mortuary, 1425 McCalla Ave., Knoxville, is in charge of arrangements. John Luther Wiggins, 89, of Clinton, died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at his residence. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Taylor Wiggins, his parents, James A. and Lillie Cline Wiggins, and seven brothers and sisters, Mark Wiggins, Clyde Wiggins, Amos Wiggins, Claude Wiggins, Mack Wiggins, Amanda Elliott and Nola Williams. Mr. Wiggins is survived by his stepson, William Kelly of Fairmont, Minn.; two sisters, Edna Webber of Clinton and Lucille Adkins of Dayton, Ohio; and by several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. A graveside service with military rites will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Aug. 6, at Bethel Cemetery.
