Taylor, age 62 of Caryville died Terrence Matthew Aerne Williams II, June Edna Byrd, age 76 of Cumberland Falls Highway, Williamsburg, KY died Aug. 12 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Byrd; father, Dick Lovely of LaFollette; sister, Trilby Lovely Miller of Mason, OH. She is survived by her mother, Georgia Lovely of LaFollette; sister, Judy Kay Combs, Dunedin, Fl. Funeral services were Aug. 15 at the Ellison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Combs, her nephew and Dr. Ron Higdon officiating. Interment was in the Highland Cemetery, Croley Addition. Ellison Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mary Esther Bolton, age 93 of LaFollette died Aug. 13 at her home. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert Bolton; parents, Andy and Lou Baird McCullah; step-mother, Julie McCullah. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Carolyn Bolton, Pioneer; grandsons, Harold Edward Bolton and wife, Joyce, Jacksboro, Andrew Bolton, LaFollette; great grandchildren, Christopher Bolton, Sharon Bolton and Dakota Ridenour; one great great grandchild; brothers, Nathan McCullah, LaFollette, Daniel (Hoss) McCullah, KY; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services were Aug. 16 at Stanfield Church of God with Rev. Delmus Bruce and Rev. Andrew Ayers officiating. Interment was in the Melvin Cemetery. Cross Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Melda Sowders Clarkson, age 82 of Newcomb died Aug. 12 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rich Sowders; children, Delmar, Don, and Edna Kathline; sister, Edna; nephew, David Lamb. She is survived by her sons, Jerry Sowders and wife, Alice of Newcomb and MacArthur Lamb and wife, Irene of Newcomb; daughter, Betty Sowders, Jellico; grandchildren, Missy, Denisa, Renee, Jerry, Christie, Sandy and Travis; eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Deloris Morgan of LaFollette; three nieces; one nephew; two great nieces; three great nephews; special friends, Lois Buckner, Leslie and Amanda; a host of other relatives and friends and everyone who was special to her. Funeral services were Aug. 14 at Harp Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Thomas and Rev. David Morgan officiating. Interment was in the Sun Fox Cemetery. Harp Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Fred W. Hatmaker, age 63 of LaFollette died Aug. 13. He was a former educator (too confining); banker (problems with FDIC) and a businessman (poor health). He loved controversy, politics and poker. He was a lifelong Democrat, but who knew the value of having friends who were not. Publicly, rascal and curmudgeon; privately, caring, compassionate and charitable. He was a natural comedian, master storyteller (many not true-all embellished). A common person who became comfortable with the powerful, but remained a champion of the people - a voice for those who were otherwise unheard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Hester Hatmaker. He is survived by his devoted wife, Doris; sons, Philip and Wes (wife Thalia); grandchildren, Ben and Abigail (who don't what they missed); sisters, Margaret Ayers and Betty Taylor; brothers, A.J. and Mike; special uncle, Walter; other relatives and friends too many to name. Funeral services were Aug. 16 at Cross Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Ross officiating. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Children's Center of the Cumberland's, or a church of other charitable organization of the donor's choice. Cross Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Carlton Eugene Hyde, age 84 of Jacksboro died Aug. 8 at Baptist Hospital of East Tennessee. He was retired from the Marketing Division of Delta Airlines. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Louise Ulmer Hyde. He is survived by his wife, Frances Hyde, Jacksboro; brother, Corbett E. Hyde of Virginia Beach, Va. Memorial services were held Aug. 11 at Jacksboro First Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Morris officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Campbell County Humane Society of Campbell County Heart Association. Cross Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Charlotte D. Lett Charlotte D. Lett, age 54 of LaFollette died Aug. 11 at St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. She was a member of House of Prayer and Praise. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Stella Daugherty; step-father, Joe Carr; step-brothers, Jarvis Carr, Grover and Arnold Carr; step-sisters, Blanch Patrick, Love Harvey and Alvellde Leach. She is survived by her husband, Horace Lett, Jr., LaFollette; sons, Tony McCulley, Denver, Co, Scotty and wife, Karen McCulley, LaFollette; daughter and son-in-law, Kellie and Shawn Charles, Caryville; mother and step-father, Martha and Cecil Archer, LaFollette; grandchildren, Wade and Casey Baird, Courtney and McKenzie Charles, Amber, Bridget and Bubba Johnson; step brothers and sisters, Timothy O.P. Carr, NC, J.T. and wife, Nadine Carr, Frank and Elaine Carr, Eleanor Carr and Ruby Carr , all of NY, David Archer; special little friends who looked to her as their grandmother, Ian and Justin Bland, Matthew and Michael Douglas; special aunt, Magdalene Orick, LaFollette; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were Aug. 14 in the Chapel of Cross Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Franklin and Rev. Charles Lovely officiating. Interment was in Bakers Forge Cemetery. Shirley Ann Marotta age 65 of LaFollette died Aug. 12 at her home. She was retired from the Internal Revenue Service, and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, member of the D.A.V. Auxiliary and member and former secretary of the Women's Relief Society of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day She was preceded in death by her daughter, Shonda Hatmaker; father, Earnest Drew. She is survived by her husband, Frank Marotta of LaFollette; daughter and son-in-law, Robyn and Randy Brady of LaFollette; grandchildren, Alisha, Clestain, and Ashalyn Brady all of LaFollette; mother, Hazel Drew of Cincinnati, Oh; sisters, Zola Walker and Geraldine Adams; brothers, Oscar Drew and George Drew all of Cincinnati, Oh; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were Aug. 16. at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Branch President Russell Figueira officiating. Interment was in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Payne, age 76 of Hamilton, OH died at his home on Aug. 12 at 11:10 a.m. He was born in LaFollette on Oct. 21, 1927, the son of James and Ruth Jeffries Payne. He was a member of the Princeton Pike Church of God, the Amazing Grace Choir of the church, a veteran of World War II with the United States Army from 1946 to 1947 and was employed as a machinist for Champion International for 33 years, retiring in 1989. On June 7, 1947 he was married to Juanita Collingsworth in LaFollette. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Payne, Hamilton, OH; son, Michael and wife, Sheryl Payne, Hamilton, OH; daughters, Carolyn and husband, Vergil Knight, Erlanger, KY, Brenda and husband, James Arrowood of Greenville, SC, Helen Payne, Hamilton, OH; brother, Frank and wife, Pat Payne, LaFollette; sisters, Arlie Carr, Mason, OH, Betty and husband, Emerson Heatherly, formerly of High Point, NC; grandchildren, Noel, Daniel, Traci and Lyndsey; great grandchildren, Kyla and Drew. Funeral services were Aug. 14 at the Princeton Pike Church of God with Rev. Marvin Cann officiating. Interment was in the Rose Hill Burial Park. Daniel "Dan" Queener, age 69 of Rogersville, went home to be with his Savior on Aug.13 while resting peacefully at his home. He was a member of Roe Junction Baptist Church in Morristown. He enjoyed hunting, ginseng, and arrowheads (which he had a wonderful collection). He loved to read his bible. He was a former charter member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. He was retired from AT&T with thirty-one years of service. He is preceded in death by his parents, M.F and Martha Campbell Queener; daughter, Deborah Queener; brothers, Jacob H., Rev. Harold Ed, and William Bill Queener; sisters, Nola Cordell, Grace Melton; infant sister; grandchildren, Maureen Queener and Bailey Ivey; father in law, Fred Sheckles; brother in law; Gene Melton. He is survived by his wife, Vicky Sheckles Queener of Rogersville; sons and daughter in law, Ray and Amy Ivey of Rogersville, and James and Jill Queener of Mascoutah, IL; daughter and son in law, Michelle and John Hesch of Grove City, OH; granddaughters, Madeline, Morgan, and Meredith Queener of Mascoutah, IL; brothers and wife's, Millard and Cleo Queener of LaFollette, and Ira and Martha Queener of Mascoutah, IL; sister and husband, Alice and Charles Norman of Church Hill; Brother and Sister in Laws, Angie and Junior Adcock, Ann Queener, and Iva Queener, all of LaFollette; mother in law, Ruby Sheckles of LaFollette; grandmother in law, Gladys Sheckles of LaFollette; several nieces and nephews and host of other relatives and friends. Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. J.B. Taylor, age 62 of Caryville died Aug.15 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was a member of Lake City Church of God. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Viola Leach Taylor. He is survived by his wife, Laura Taylor; son, John B. ,II and wife; Kim Taylor ; grandson, Barton Taylor, all of Caryville; brother; David and wife; Judy Taylor of LaFollette; sisters, Sharon and husband, Bob Finch of Theresa, NY, and Cynthia Taylor of LaFollette; nephews, Mark Taylor and Aaron Finch; a host of other loving relatives and friends. Funeral Services were Aug. 17 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Hobert McCreary officiating. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery. Terrence Matthew Aerne Williams II, infant son of Terry and Michelle Longmire Williams, of Oneida, died Aug. 9 at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.He is survived by his parents; sisters, Victoria Ann Williams, age 7 and Anbrigette Nicole Williams, age 3; maternal grandparents, Dennis and Joy Longmire and Mary Brown of LaFollette; paternal grandparents, James J. and Melinda Aerne Williams of Johnson City; paternal great grandparents, Robert L. and Mary A. Williams of Bunker Hill, IN; uncles, Jim Williams and wife Dania of Jacksboro, Jerry Williams and wife Ladonna of Elizabethton, Michael Longmire and wife Melissa and Zach Lloyd, all of LaFollette; aunts, Bridget Williams of Johnson City and Karah Longmire of Lafollette Rev. Joe Campbell and Re. Michael Woods will concelebrate the Mass of the Angels on Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at 7:00 pm at St. Jude Catholic Church in Helenwood, TN. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2:00pm at Longmire Cemetery in Lafollette.
