From The Oak Ridger 31 Aug 2004 Edna "Sug" Walker Bean, 79, of West Knoxville, Carlette Sartin Fuller, 23, of Oak Ridge, Helen Hatcher, 77, of Oak Ridge, Edna "Sug" Walker Bean, 79, of West Knoxville, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, at Parkwest Hospital. She was a member of Ball Camp Baptist Church and a retired secretary with Martin Marietta. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lillian Fagg Walker. She is survived by her husband, James O. Bean; her daughter, Becky Drazkowski and husband, Jim, of Knoxville; two grandsons, James, of California, and Steven, of Knoxville; nephew, Mike Webb, of Ohio, and niece, Holly Guide, of Florida. The funeral will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, at Ball Camp Baptist Church with the Rev. Ed Sunday-Winters and Gene Ward officiating. The graveside service will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to the American Lung Association, 212 S. Peters Road, Suite 106, Knoxville, TN 37923. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church prior to the funeral. Loudon Funeral Home in Loudon is in charge of arrangements. Carlette Sartin Fuller, 23, of Oak Ridge, died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. She was a member of Light House Baptist Church in Knoxville. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Sartin. She is survived by her husband, Chris Fuller, of Oak Ridge; her mother, Betty Sartin, of Knoxville; two sisters, Holly Hickman and husband, Edward, of Powell and Kimberly Montgomery and husband, David, of Clinton. She is also survived by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sherry and Robert Fuller, of Oak Ridge; two half brothers Bob Sartin and his wife, Lois, of Clinton, and Phil Sartin and wife, Wilma, of Maynardville; and six nephews and six nieces. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. The burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, at Grandview Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Helen Hatcher, 77, of Oak Ridge, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Born Oct. 5, 1926, in Monroe, Ga., she was the daughter Maggielene and John Catlin. Mrs. Hatcher retired from Methodist Medical Center's Environmental Services Department in 1990. She was a charter member of Oak Valley Baptist Church and an early member of Elks Atomic Lodge, No. 1301, in Oak Ridge. She enjoyed sports, traveling, listening to gospel music and taking care of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Gus Hatcher, and a son, Henry Anthony Hatcher. Mrs. Hatcher is survived by three daughters, Dee Dee Hatcher Watkins, Madeline Spratling and Wynickea D. Hatcher, all of Oak Ridge; three sisters-in-law, Patience Grider of Oak Ridge, Lena Hatcher of Tullahoma, and Lois Catlin of Avon Park, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Larry Spratling, Sharon Spratling, Barbara Spratling, John W. Spratling and wife, Vanessa, Evette Spratling, Kaylee Hatcher and Torivanno Watkins, all of Oak Ridge, and Antonia Herdon of Knoxville; and by 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Karen Catlin of Miami, Fla., and Marsha Catlin of San Diego, Calif. Members of Oak Valley Baptist Church, James "Pig" Mitchell, Gwen Herdon, Teresa Riddle, Lil Moore, and many others were considered special friends. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday Sept. 4, 2004, at Oak Valley Baptist Church with the Rev Hardil Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. Weatherford Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
