From The Knoxville News Sentinel 3 Aug 2004 ADKINS, JOHN (SCOOTER) - age 14, CLARK, RICHARD LEE, SR. - age 70, of Kingston, formally of Oak Ridge, GAYLOR, LOIS DAGLEY - HICKS, HOWARD JAMES SR. - 80, of Heiskell, MAYES, RUTH S. - age 84, a resident of Oak Ridge, ADKINS, JOHN (SCOOTER) - age 14, died August 1, as a result of motorcycle accident. Services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, at St. Therese Catholic Church in Clinton. CLARK, RICHARD LEE, SR. - age 70, of Kingston, formally of Oak Ridge, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2004. He retired from Lockheed Martin as a Lab Analyst. He was a Mason and also involved in Amateur Radio, Amateur Radio Emergency Services, National Weather Service Trained Spotter and member of the Rescue Squad. Preceded in death by: his father, Ora Pleasant Clark. Survived by: his mother, Thelma Faye Clark; former wife, Phyllis J. Clark; one son, Richard Lee, Jr. and Tiffany Clark; four daughters, Judy and Dennis Ross of Terre Haute, IN., Lou Ann and Dan Demirjian of Hixon, TN., Claudia and Barry Brewer and Cheryl and Kenneth Hall of Kingston, TN.; eleven grandchildren, William and Rachael Ross, Kelly Johnson, Jeannie Brewer, Ashley, Jennifer and Kendra Hall, Stephanie Clark, Hollie, LeAnn, Scott Demirjian; five great grandchildren, Madison Ross, Haleigh Clark, Malachi Hall; Sabastian, Aidan Demirjian. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 3, 2004 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Brown Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 5, 2004, family will receive friends at Thomas Funeral Home in Terre Haute, IN., from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with interment Friday, August 6, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in Roselawn Memorial Park. Brown Funeral Home, Kingston, is honored to serve the family of Richard Lee Clark, Sr. GAYLOR, LOIS DAGLEY - passed away at her home Sunday, August 1, 2004 at age 94 1/2 years. She was a long time member of Grantsboro Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by husband, Claude Gaylor; parents, Thomas and Ann Dagley; brothers, Bill, Fletcher, Fred, Jim, Ferris, Condy Dagley and; sister, Minnie. Miss Gaylor is survived by sisters-in-law, Cleda Parrott, Mary, Ermine Dagley; brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Gaylor; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Several special friends who were helpful and very close to her. Funeral services will be 8 PM Wednesday, August 4 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. David Goins and Rev. J.T Asbury officiating. Interment will be 11 AM Thursday in Grantsboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 Wednesday before funeral services at Martin Wilson Funeral Home. Martin Wilson Funeral Home of LaFollette is in charge of these arrangements. HICKS, HOWARD JAMES SR. - 80, of Heiskell, passed away, Monday, August 2, 2004. Born May 23, 1924 to Basil and Grace Lewis Hicks. He was a long time member of Glenwood Baptist Church, actively serving many roles and a Veteran of WWII. After working 35 years as an engineer at the DOE facilities in Oak Ridge, he retired in 1986. Preceded in death by: wife of 60 years, Daisy Haynes Hicks; and sister, Dorothy Hicks Humphreys. Survived by: sons and daughters-in- law, Terry and Sharon Hicks and Jim and Betty Hicks all of Knoxville; grandchildren, Brittany Hicks of Knoxville, Aaron Hicks and wife Karen of Louisville, KY, Lora Hicks Langlois and husband Jeremy of Johnson City, TN and Brent Hicks and fiancé Mandy George of San Francisco, CA, brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Jewel Hicks of Oak Ridge; and several nieces and nephews. Service, 8:00 p.m., Thursday, Mynatt Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Perry Austin and Rev. Dudley Cochrum officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Mynatt Funeral Home. MAYES, RUTH S. - age 84, a resident of Oak Ridge, passed away Sunday, August 01, 2004 at her home. She was born August 6, 1919 in Tazewell, living in Oak Ridge since 1945. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at Sharp Funeral Home with funeral service following at 8:00 pm, in the Chapel with Rev. J.E. Wiseman officiating. Interment will be held 1:00 pm, Thursday at Pleasant Point Cemetery in Tazewell.
