    1. [TNCAMPBE-L] Joseph & Morena (Nelson) CAMPBELL family
    2. ACB/GJB
    3. I have wondered about this Joseph CAMPBELL & his wife Morena NELSON as my family appears next to them on the 1850 Campbell County census. 17th Subdivision Campbell County, Tennessee By: John Phillips on the 25th day of September 1850 383 383 Campbell, Joseph 62 383 383 Campbell, Morena 43 383 383 Campbell, Abraham 20 383 383 Campbell, Melinda J. 16 383 383 Campbell, Raphael P. 14 383 383 Campbell, Eliza 10 383 383 Campbell, Morena 8 383 383 Campbell, Mary A. 5 383 383 Campbell, Azariah C. 1 384 384 Campbell, James D. 29 384 384 Campbell, Catharine 22 384 384 Campbell, Thiraby J. 6 384 384 Campbell, William R. 5 384 384 Campbell, Joseph P. 2 384 384 Campbell, James C. 1/12 I descend from James David CAMPBELL (age 29) who is the household #384 next to Joseph & Morena CAMPBELL. His wife Catherine was Catherine A. NELSON born abt 1828 in Knox Co. TN. James David and Catherine were married in 1841 Campbell Co., TN. Joseph CAMPBELL married Rena NELSON 5 May 1840. Rena/Morena was married first to Pulaski NELSON in 1824 Roane Co.,TN. and they later moved to Knox Co., TN I have always wondered if there was a connection between Catherine NELSON and Morena NELSON. Perhaps Catherine is a daughter of Morena from her first marriage to Pulaski NELSON. Who knows the names of Pulaski & Morena NELSON's children? I have found info on another web page that "Pulaski NELSON is shown on the 1830 Knox County, TN census as being 20-30 years of age (born 1800-1810 with one female, age 0-4 and one male 0-5 (born 1825-1830), and one female 20-30 who would have been Mareny, born 28 March 1807 from bible records." The female age 0-4 could be Catherine NELSON born 1828 in Knox Co. TN who married James David CAMPBELL in 1841 & shows up in the 1850 Campbell Co., TN census next to Joseph & Morena CAMPBELL. Another interesting fact is that one of the sons of James D. & Catherine A. CAMPBELL is Joseph P. CAMPBELL. The P. stands for PULASKI!! This middle name of Pulaski always puzzled me but makes perfect sense if Catherine's father was Pulaski NELSON. Just thought I would put this info out there for what it is worth. Perhaps someone can shed some light on the subject. I will keep hunting... Anne
