Potter, 64, of Johnson City, Gertrude Evelyn Nenon Fred Alvin Wright, 60, of Clinton, Albert John Mallett of Oak Ridge \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ Freida Doris Bartley, 69, of Clinton, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Born Oct. 6, 1934, in Rock Creek, Ky., she was the daughter of Jeff and Reba Stephens Anderson. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Clinton and a former longtime member of Glenwood Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. Mrs. Bartley was also an avid golfer and longtime member and officer of the South Hills Women's Golf Association. She was a member of Oak Ridge Women's Club. Mrs. Bartley is survived by her husband, Robert E. Bartley; her son, Stewart Bartley and wife, Christina, of Alexandria, Va.; three sisters, Thelma Wright of Invernes, Fla., Wilma Neal and husband, Cecil, of Pine Knot, Ky., and Betty Lawson and husband, Robert, of Stearns, Ky.; two grandchildren, Erik Bartley and Emma Bartley; and by several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Herbert Lee and the Rev. Terry Baker officiating. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Calvary Cemetery in Corbin, Ky. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of contributions to Family Life Center Fund, First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 268, Clinton, TN 37717-0268. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. Gail Weaver Hedden, 57, of Oak Ridge, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Born Dec. 3, 1946, in Nashville, she was the daughter of Joe and Leona Lentz Weaver. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she was fully active in Sunday school. She was also a charter member of First Place at the church. Ms. Hedden was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Power Squadron. She worked part time with the State of Tennessee in health and safety and with Oliver's Catering. Her family said she enjoyed ballroom dancing, was an avid reader, loved to travel and fulfilled her dream of living on a houseboat. Ms. Hedden is survived by her son, Andy Hedden of Haines, Alaska; her daughter, Becky Hedden and fiancé, Patrick Hovan Jr., of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; her brother, Doug Weaver, of Oak Ridge; and by special friends, Rose Ann Hartman, Ted Atkinson, Bobby Nier and Rebecca Glover, all of Oak Ridge. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Martin officiating. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, c/o Lee Costanzo, 103 Case Lane, Oak Ridge, TN 37830. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Weatherford Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Mary Lou Guyton Parker, 76, of Michigan, formerly of Clinton, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, in Grosse Point, Mich. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Ruby Guyton, and by a sister, Evelyn Weatherford. Mrs. Parker is survived by her husband, Kenneth Parker; two daughters, Amy Macks and husband, Jerry, and Lana Budde and husband, Bob; four grandchildren, David, Nicole, Christian and Mariah; and by one niece, Ann Pettit, of Mohawk. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004, in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, at Anderson Memorial Gardens, Oliver Springs Highway, Clinton. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of contributions to the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, P.O. Box 672648, Marietta, GA 30006. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. Dorothy Pearl Polson, 85, of Oak Ridge, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, at NHC HealthCare of Oak Ridge. Born Aug. 29, 1918, in Crossville, she was the daughter of Johnathan Segymast Brown and Stacy Alberta Hamby Brown. Before coming to Oak Ridge, Mrs. Polson taught school in Crossville and then continued teaching in Oak Ridge for a short period of time. In earlier years, she was also active with the Brownie Girl Scouts. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers. Mrs. Polson is survived by her husband, John S. Polson; her daughter, Janice Elaine Dobbs of Oak Ridge; her sister, Lela Tabor of Crossville; and by two grandchildren, Doug Dobbs and Melissa Dobbs of Oak Ridge. The funeral was Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004, at Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. William Mooney officiating. Burial followed at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Jerry T. Potter, 64, of Johnson City, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at his residence. Mr. Potter was a native of Huntsville and lived most of his life in Johnson City. He served in the U.S. Navy, attended Harvest Time Baptist Church and was an artist. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ulysses and Natalie Hewett Potter. Mr. Potter is survived by his longtime companion, Mary E. Bowers; his brother, John Mark Potter and wife, Myra Elizabeth, of Oak Ridge; two sisters, Amanda Mason of Knoxville and Pam Wofford of Crossville; and by several nieces and nephews. A graveside service was to be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, at Mountain Home National Cemetery in Mountain Home. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family was to receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Monday at Morris-Baker Funeral Home in Johnson City. Gertrude Evelyn Nenon died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, in Winston-Salem, N.C., where she made her home for the past three years. She had been a resident of Oak Ridge since 1944 and was a charter member and secretary at Glenwood Baptist Church for its first 31 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Nenon, and by her brother, Donnie Frey. Mrs. Nenon is survived by her daughter, Monerva Fox of Winston-Salem; her grandchildren, Steven and Marie Fox of Benson, N.C., David Fox of Oak Ridge, and Mike and Christy Fox of Madison, N.C.; her great-grandchild, Sarah Fox of Madison; and by her sister-in-law, Agnes Frey of Nashville. The family requests any memorials be in the form of contributions to Winston-Salem Rehabilitation and Heathcare Center, 1900 W. First St., Winston-Salem, NC 27104. Vogler and Sons Inc. in Winston-Salem is in charge of arrangements. Fred Alvin Wright, 60, of Clinton, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was a member and deacon at Lakeview Baptist Church. Born Aug. 1, 1943, in Knox County, he was the son of Tressie Wright, now deceased, and Arthur Wright of Clinton. In addition to his father, Mr. Wright is survived by his wife, Joyce Wright; two daughters, Kim Barker and husband, Emory, and Lisa Long and husband, Charles; and by three grandchildren, Christopher Barker, Kayla Barker and Amanda Long, all of Clinton. He is also survived by his mother- and father-in-law, James and Rose Bradshaw; his sister, Wilma Brooks and husband, Larry; two brothers, Willard Wright and wife, Pat, and Carl Wright and wife, Paula, all of Clinton; an uncle, Milas Stooksbury and wife, Lucille, of Knoxville; and by several nieces, nephews and extended family members. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. Glen Gamble and the Rev. Steve Merritt officiating. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Grandview Memorial Garden in Clinton. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of contributions to Lakeview Baptist Church in Clinton. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Albert John Mallett of Oak Ridge died Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
