From the Oak Ridger 26 Oct 2004 Edward Dorman Marshall, 85, of Oak Ridge, died Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Born Oct. 24, 1919, in Memphis, he was the son of Henry Peter and Sybil Dorman Marshall. Mr. Marshall was retired from the Department of Energy where he worked for 25 years as a chemist. He was a graduate of St. Mary's College in Winona, Minn. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and American Chemical Society. According to his family, Mr. Marshall enjoyed photography, geology, rosary-making, and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John Henry Marshall. Mr. Marshall is survived by his wife of 59 1/2 years, Mary Juanita (Nita) Marshall; four daughters, Mary Catherine Marshall of Baltimore, Md., Becky Amerson and husband, Kirk, of Charleston, S.C., Anne Sams and husband, Michael, of Columbia, and Susan Vance and husband, Paul, of Oak Ridge; a brother, Robert Marshall, and wife, Margaret Ann, of Memphis; five grandchildren, Matthew and Kelley Amerson, Erin Staub, and Peter and Tim Vance; and one great-grandchild, Caroline Cotton. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Woods and the Rev. Robert Marshall, Mr. Marshall's nephew, officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, with a rosary at 8:30 p.m. in the chapel of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home.
