From The Oak Ridger 12 Oct 12 2004 Jeffrey Glenn Davis, 63, of Oak Ridge, Georgia Mae Parton Watson, of Claxton, Everett Leon Johnson, 65, of Oak Ridge, Irene Russell Wright, 93, of Oliver Springs, Jeffrey Glenn Davis, 63, of Oak Ridge, died Monday, Oct. 11, 2004, at his home. He attended Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church in Knoxville. He enjoyed golf, attending University of Tennessee football and Lady Vol basketball games, and motor home rallies, his family said. He graduated from Union University in Jackson, earned a master's degree in public health from Tulane University, and his medical degree from the UT at Memphis. Dr. Davis served 28 years in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 to 1990. He retired in 1990 with the rank of colonel. After beginning his career as a flight surgeon, his last two positions in the Air Force were commander of the School of Aerospace Medicine at Brooks Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, and deputy command surgeon for Systems Command, Wright Patterson Air Force Base near Fairborn, Ohio. After retiring from the Air Force, he continued to practice occupational medicine in Oak Ridge with Oak Ridge Associated Universities, Coal Centra and most recently with Net Gain. Dr. Davis was preceded in death by his father, James Glenford Davis, and his son, Jeffrey Glenn Davis II. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Faye Farmer Davis; his son, James Roger Davis and wife, Becca, and was eagerly waiting the birth of his first grandchild later this month. He is also survived by his mother, Evelyn Barnette Davis of Oak Ridge, and his sister, Ann Davis Findlan and husband, Gerry, of Oberlin, Ohio. The funeral will be at noon Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dewey Corder officiating. A graveside service with full military honors will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 15, at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Memphis. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, Oct. 14, at the church. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to Jeffrey Glenn Davis Memorial Scholarship Fund at Union University, 1050 Union University Drive, Jackson, TN 38305. An online register book is available at www.martinoakridgefuneralhome.com Georgia Mae Parton Watson, of Claxton, died Oct. 10, 2004, after struggling for eight years with Alzheimer's disease. Born Nov. 5, 1928, she was the daughter of Calvin Parton and Willie Frances Lowe Parton and a graduate of Sevier County High School. She was retired from Martin Marietta Energy Systems and was a member of Riverview Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eual Watson, sister, Beatrice Loveday, and a sister-in-law, Mary Rene Watson. Mrs. Watson is survived by her brother, Leroy "Buddy" Parton of Hydra, Okla.; seven children, Steve Watson of Heiskell, Benny and Judy Bible-Smith of Kingston, Patricia and Terry Long, and Darlene Watson, all of Claxton, Kimberly Black of Oak Ridge, Theresa Watson of Knoxville and John Watson of Vonore; nine grandchildren, Lisa Roberts of Kingston, Chuck Bible of Knoxville, Brian Henegar of Clinton, Jesse Watson and Joe Tyler Watson, both of Claxton, Shauntay Watson and Rock Black, both of Oak Ridge, and Scott Beeler and Cameron Beeler, both of Heiskell; and four great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Valerie Nemes, Bhula Wilson and Jeri Bouchard. The funeral will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004, in the chapel of Woodhaven Funeral Home in Claxton with the Rev. David Watson officiating. A private graveside service will be at the Woodhaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, at the funeral home. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 4700 Rutledge Pike, Knoxville, TN 37914, or the Kerbela Shrine Temple, P.O. Box 1310, Knoxville, TN 37901. Everett Leon Johnson, 65, of Oak Ridge, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004, at Briarcliff Health Care Center. Irene Russell Wright, 93, of Oliver Springs, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004, at Harriman Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.
