From the Knoxville News Sentinel 7 Oct 2004 BASS, WILLIAM R. - age 82 of Oak Ridge, BASS, WILLIAM R. - age 82 of Oak Ridge, passed away Monday 4, 2004 at Windwood Health Care in Clinton. His wife of 56 years, Frances Mary Blanckertz Bass of Oak Ridge; a son, Gary Bass and wife Linda of Kingston Springs, TN; and a daughter, Susan Higgins of Oak Ridge, survived Mr. Bass. Funeral services will be Friday October 8, 2004 at 10:00 am in the Chapel of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home. Friends may call at their convenience from 9am to 5pm Thursday at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 9-10 Friday prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
