From The Knoxville News Sentinel 29 Oct 2004 ARTHUR, DARREL EUGENE (ART) CHAPMAN, JEWELL - age 53 of LaFollette, MURRAY, HEADIA SUE - age 68, of Clinton PHILLIPS, WILLIAM E. 52, of Harriman, TN. formerly of Clinton, TN, ROCHELLE, CHARLES EDWARD -age 58, of Clinton, WRIGHT, LUCILLE - age 85, of Clinton, ARTHUR, DARREL EUGENE (ART) - died at the Methodist Medical Center on October 28 at 5:30 am after a courageous struggle with a neuromuscular disease. He was born in Maynard, Iowa to the late Raymond and Leta Silka Arthur. After graduating from Upper Iowa University he spent two years in the U.S. Army. Early in 1945 he joined the Health Physics Division at Oakridge National Laboratory. During his years of service at ORNL his efforts were to provide radiation exposure control to many areas, including several of the more hazardous work areas. He completed his work career in 1978 as a leader of a group providing Health Physics service for all labor organizations in the Y-12 area. He was an avid bowler, having bowled 299 in 1950 and a sports enthusiast, officiating football and basketball in a/l surrounding counties. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Gladys Lewis Arthur; one daughter, Darrah Lou Hensley of Lexington, KY; two grandchildren, Todd Arthur Hensley of Tarzana, CA and Robert Scott Hensley of Lexington, KY; one step-daughter, Linda Sue Ferris of Blountville, TN; one step-granddaughter, Misty Harris of Chattanooga, TN; and one sister-in-law, Peggy Tuck Arthur of Lenoir City, TN; two special friends whom he considered family were Samantha and Chani Dintsch and Ann Nissien of Finland who was an exchange student at Linda's home for six years. Art appreciated his flowers while living through the kindness shown to the family during his long illness. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 30, at 4 pm at Weatherford Mortuary with Dr. Larry Dipboye officiating. Entombment will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Memorials may be made in the form of donations to charity of choice. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2 - 4 PM at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge. CHAPMAN, JEWELL - age 53 of LaFollette, passed away early Thursday morning October 28, 2004 at the Saint Mary's Center of Campbell County. She was a member of Long Hollow Baptist Church. Preceded in death by: parents, John Stanford and Doxie Comer Stanford; half-sisters, Nell Jordan, Ruth Riggs, Lettie Davis and Mary Williamson; half- brothers, Kenneth and Edward Stanford. Survivors: husband, Oscar (Boss) Chapman; son, Tony Chapman; sister, La Von Petree; half-sisters, Betty Heatherly, Stella Rogers, Agnes Gibson and Mary Hembree; half-brothers, Jim Comer, Paul Comer and C.B. Comer. Funeral services 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004 at Cross Funeral Home. Interment 10 a.m. Sunday Oct. 31, 2004 at Bakers Forge Cemetery. MURRAY, HEADIA SUE - age 68, of Clinton went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at Methodist Medical Center. She was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Ben & Arietta Smiddy. Survivors: husband of 47 years, Ted Murray of Clinton; sons, Gene Edward Murray & wife Connie of Clinton, Jerry Lynn Murray of Clinton, James Adam Murray of Clinton, John Paul Murray & wife Connie of Maynardville; daughter, Susan & husband Danny Phillips of Clinton; sisters, Barbara Carden of Lake City, Wanda Hartness of Clinton; grandchildren, Joe May, Randy Murray, Ray Phillips, Jeremy Murray, Angela Phillips, Scarlett Murray & Summer Murray; great grandchildren, Dylan Murray & Alexis Murray; several nieces & nephews. PHILLIPS, WILLIAM E. - better known as Bill, age 52, of Harriman, TN. formerly of Clinton, TN, passed away suddenly Wednesday October 27, 2004 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. Bill was of the Baptist faith, a Mason, & a Shriner. He loved to ride motorcycles, help with Toys for Tots & Trail of Tears. He loved The Blues, liked to travel & have fun and he never met a stranger. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Willard & June Phillips. Survivors: son, Billy Phillips & wife Ellen of Germany; daughters, Alicia Long & husband Carl of Clinton, TN, Debbie Idles of Clinton, TN; brother, Carl Hamilton of Johnson City, TN; sister, Barbara Brooks & husband John of Arkansas; grandchildren, Kayla June, Zack & Andy Long of Clinton, TN, Tiffany, Isaiah, & Taylor Idles of Clinton, TN, Carter, Heath, & Jadi Phillips of Germany; special friends, Susan Hedges, Buck, Mike Nutt, & Roger Simmons (Cuss); and a host of other relatives & friends. Bill Dawson officiating. The interment will be Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004 at 11:00 am at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Clinton, TN. Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN is in charge of all arrangements. ROCHELLE, CHARLES EDWARD -age 58, of Clinton, Tennessee passed away Thursday, October 28, 2004 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was a member of Clinton First Baptist Church where he was very active with the World Changers Organization and helped organize NOAH Committee at the church. He was very active in Clinton Baseball Incorp and the Anderson County High School Baseball Boosters. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his father, A. R. "Al" Rochelle. Survivors: wife, Becky Rochelle of Clinton, Tn.; sons, Michael Rochelle & wife, Lori, of Clinton, Tn. Travis Rochelle of Clinton, Tn., Robert Rochelle of Clinton, Tn.; mother, Mary Rochelle of Guthrie, Ky; sister, Rita Carmichael & husband, Jimmy, of Jackson, Tn.; brothers, Al Rochelle & wife, Myrna, of Guthrie, Ky., Marvin Rochelle & wife, Judy, of Childersburg, Ala.
