From the Knoxville News sentinel 27 Oct 2004 DAVIS, RAY E. - age 72 of Solway, EDMONDS, MARY LOU ROMINE (CHOC) - age 77 of Clinton, MCCREARY, BILLY RAY- age 65, of Jacksboro, TN., DAVIS, RAY E. - age 72 of Solway, passed away Monday, October 25, 2004 at NHC of Oak Ridge. A member of Solway Church of God, he is preceded in death by his mother, Bessie Birchfield. Survived by wife of 49 years Ruby Pearl Davis; son, Bryan Lee Davis and wife Kim of Knoxville; two granddaughters, Dana and Sarah; one sister, Emma Wright of Sylva, NC. Services 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Highland West Chapel 9913 Sherrill Lane, Rev. Bill Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 6-8 p.m. Family and friends will assemble at Solway Church of God cemetery on Thursday for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service. EDMONDS, MARY LOU ROMINE (CHOC) - age 77 of Clinton, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2004. Preceded in death by parents, Arlie and Mattie Belle Romine; brother, Ralph G. Romine; and sons, Clifford and Gary Murphy. Survived by best friend and partner, Ancil Sherwood, Clinton; daughter and son in law, Arla and Steve Pierce, Knoxville; grandson and wife, Michael and Lisa Pierce, South Boston, Va. Friends and family will be received in the Chapel at Jones Mortuary, Clinton, Tenn. from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 28, with service immediately to follow. Special thanks to Windwood Healthcare and Hospice staff and volunteers. MCCREARY, BILLY RAY- age 65, of Jacksboro, TN., died Monday, October 25, 2004 at Baptist West Medical Center. He retired from the US Army as a Sergeant First Class with over 20 years of service, having last served with the Military Police Training School. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert J. McCreary and brother, Chester "Buddy" McCreary. Billy Ray is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Imogene Hicks McCreary of Jacksboro; daughters and son in law, Sherry McCreary, Suzette and Joe Russell all of Knoxville; son and daughter in law, Tim and Sandra McCreary of Auburn, GA; special grandson, J.T. Russell of Knoxville; mother, Evelyn McCreary of Lafollette; brother and sister in law, Robert E. and Dorothy McCreary of Sumter, SC; sister and brother in law, Helen and R.L. Ayers of LaFollette; several nieces and nephews. The family and friends will meet at Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Thursday for a graveside and interment service with Full Military Honors by Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard.
