From the Knoxville News Sentinel 6 Oct 2004 PRESLEY, PRESTON DAVID PRESLEY, PRESTON DAVID died suddenly at his Jacksboro home on Monday, Oct. 4, 2004. After growing up in the Akron, Ohio area, he served in the Army Air Corps in World War II and in the Naval Air Reserve during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Presley worked for Burroughs for 36 years, many of them as a Field Engineering Manager in Lima, Ohio. He was a member of Lafollette United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir for many years. He was also on the board of Food Life Service of Campbell County and a Boy Scout Leader in Lima, Ohio and in the Cumberland District. He was preceded in death by: his mother, Marie Dennis; brother, Darold Slabaugh; and grandson, Matthew Presley. Mr. Presley is survived by: his wife, Ruby; son, David of Fremont, Ohio; and grandchildren, Amanda and Steven; son, Gary of Milford, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Christine and grandchildren, Nicole, Caitlin and William; sisters, Norma Coughlin and Sheryle Ball (Paul); brother, Gary Slabaugh (Alyce); and sister-in-law, Debra Slabaugh. Extended family includes: Ola Wood, Dr. Burgin and Jo Wood, Wilma Jonston, and Mike and Jane Westbrook. Visitation is Thursday, Oct. 7 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Lafollette Methodist Church, with a memorial service at 5 p.m. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be given to: Food Life Services of Campbell County, P.O. Box 804, Jacksboro, TN, 37757, or to: Cub Scout Pack 435 at Lafollette United Methodist Church or Boy Scout Troop 622 in Lafollette Presbyterian Church.
