From The Oak Ridger 6 Jul 2004 Kelly Harness, 58, of Cleveland, Randy Scott Johnson, 34, of Clinton, formerly of Knoxville, Etoy Barnett Goodman Schulte, 97, of Dallas, Ga., Kelly Harness, 58, of Cleveland, died Sunday, July 4, 2004, at The Health Center at Standifer Place in Chattanooga. According to his family, Mr. Harness enjoyed his friends and family, especially his grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo "Pete" and Nellie Brown Harness; three brothers, Isaac Harness, Lesley Harness and Robert Harness; and by two sisters, Ollie Mae Harness and Maggie Gibson. Mr. Harness is survived by his son, Greg Harness, his daughter, Kimberlee Waters and husband, Gary, and by his grandson, Tyler Waters, all of Cleveland. He is also survived by special friends, Lora Wells and Geraldine Lewis, of Cleveland; and by four sisters, Margaret Munoz and husband, Juan, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Martha Ellis and husband, Worth, Mary Thomas, and George Ann Raines and husband, Bob, all of Oliver Springs. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 8, 2004, at Browns Flat Baptist Church in Briceville with the Rev. Dean Yancey officiating. Burial will be at Browns Flat Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, at Oliver Springs Mortuary. Randy Scott Johnson, 34, of Clinton, formerly of Knoxville, died Saturday, July 3, 2004, at his home. Mr. Johnson was born March 3, 1970, in Knoxville, recently moving to Clinton. He had been employed for the past five years as a maintenance supervisor at Northshore Woods Apartments in Knoxville. He had worked as a maintenance supervisor at several other apartment locations in Knoxville for 15 years. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Margie Whitson and Clifford Breeden; his paternal grandfather, William Johnson; two uncles, John Johnson and Bill Johnson; and by a cousin, Michael Johnson. Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Kimberly Johnson; four children, Brandon Scott Johnson of Knoxville, Brittney LeAnn Johnson of Seymour and Joshua Scott Epperson and Chelsee Breann Epperson, both of Clinton; his father, Claude Johnson and wife, Carolyn, of Knoxville; and by his mother, Carolyn O'Jeda and husband, Santos, of Mascot. He is also survived by his brother, Sam Johnson and wife, April, of Mascot; his sister, Lisa Whitehead and husband, Larry, of Knoxville; his grandmother, Mary Johnson, of Knoxville; his "Granny," Velma Hooks, of Oliver Springs; two brothers-in-law, Michael Aslinger and fiancée, Gail Cooper, of Knoxville and Darrell Aslinger and wife, Angel, of Oliver Springs; his sister-in-law, Missy Lane and husband, Scott, of Raleigh, N.C.; and by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2004, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs with the Rev. Alan Cottrell officiating. A graveside service will be at noon Wednesday, July 7, 2004, at Highland South Memorial Park in Knoxville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Etoy Barnett Goodman Schulte, 97, of Dallas, Ga., died Sunday, July 4, 2004, after a brief illness. Born Oct. 14, 1906, in New Albany, Miss., she was the daughter of William Thomas Barnett and Alice Adelia Hall Barnett. She was one of 10 children. Mrs. Schulte and her first husband, Jamie J. Goodman, of New Albany, were early residents of Oak Ridge. She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Later, widowed and retired from retail jewelry sales, Mrs. Schulte moved to St. Petersburg, Fla., where she met and married Edwin C. Schulte, another longtime Oak Ridge resident. The two former Oak Ridgers returned to Tennessee, where they lived many years until Mr. Schulte's death in 1990. Mrs. Schulte relocated to Dallas, Ga., in 2000 and lived at Kimberly Assisted Living until her death. In addition to her husbands, parents and many siblings, she was preceded in death by her son, Dr. James B. Goodman, who died May 5, 2003. Mrs. Schulte is survived by two sisters, Inez Pearson of Gainesville, Mo., and Tommie Walters of Memphis; her daughter-in-law, Nora W. Goodman, of Dallas, Ga.; a stepgrandson, John Achter of Hutto, Texas; and by four granddaughters, Tracy Minjauw of Marietta, Ga., Leslie Langley of Bowden, Ga., Alison Uphold of Thomaston, Ga., and Angela Goodman, of Monroe, Ga., and their mother, Joy W. Goodman, of Bowden. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Rachel Barber Sleppy of Athens, Ga., Benjamin Price of Atlanta, Ga., and Sydney Uphold and Sam Uphold of Thomaston, Ga.; and by several other extended family members. The funeral was to be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, Ga.
