The Monroe Evening News No date must be in the late1980's or early 1990's. MOSSIE R. WHITED Mrs. Mossie R. Whited, 77, who had made her home with her son, Jimmy R. Whited, died at 12:40 this morning in her home. She had been seriously ill since November. Friends may call after 7 tonight in the Rupp Funeral Home. She will lie in state Friday in the Frenchtown Missionary Baptist Church from 10 a.m. until services at 11. The Rev. J.D. Sulfridge will officiate and burial will be in Campbell Memorial Gardens, LaFollette, Tenn. Born July 22, 1910, in Marion, Tenn., she was the daughter of Ray and Nora ( Edmondson ) Moore. She was married Sept. 14, 1929, to John E. Whited in Fonde, Ky. He died Aug. 1, 1980. She had been employed as a press operator by Monroe Machine Products from 1956-1959. She was a member of the Frenchtown church. In addition to her son, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Joe T. ( Joyce ) Messer of Monroe: a brother, Kenneth Moore of Flat Rock a sister, Mrs. Mabel Parker of Hamtramck; 10 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. She was also was precede in death by four brother, two sisters, a daughter and a great grandchild. Memorials may be made to the Frenchtown Missionary Baptist Church building fund or the Baptist Children's Orphan Home.
