He was a retired Coal Miner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Caswell and Sally Ann Lay Barnes. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Williams Barnes, LaFollette; sons, Kermit and Ken Barnes, Sidney, OH, Jim Barnes, Anna, OH; daughters, Judy Boruff, Morristown, Vickie Perron, Danis, Fl; 16 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; brother, Rev. Caswell Barnes, Vasper. Funeral services were July 17a t Cross Chapel with Rev. Charlie Wilson officiating. Interment was in Sunrise Cemetery. Cross Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Joseph W. Branam age 71 of LaFollette died July 18 at St. Mary's Residential Hospice Center in Knoxville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, former Constable of Campbell County and was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Brent Branam; parents, Jonathan and Mary Davis Branam. He is survived by his sister, Lorene Sharp and husband, John Luke Sharp of LaFollette; brother, Carl E. Branam and wife, Martha Branam of Powell; nieces and nephews, Connie Justice and Jeanie Ray, both of LaFollette, Darrell Sharp of Duff, Barry Branam of Heiskell, TN and Angie Serff of Clemson, SC; several great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends, including special friend, Mary Newport of Jellico. Funeral services were July 20 at Walters Chapel. Interment was in the Hall Cemetery with military honors conducted by Campbell County Honor Guard. Walters Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Ocie Margaret Chadwick died July 18 at her residence. She loved to collect coins and stamps. She also loved gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Henry and Thomas R. Chadwick; sisters, Lela Chadwick, Minnie Jones and Ruth Duncan. Hatmaker Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Minnie Hurst Crutchfield, age 82 of New Tazewell was born June 13, 1922 and died July 13 at the Claiborne County Hospital Nursing Home. She accepted Christ as her savior as a young woman. She was a member of Cave Springs Baptist Church. She was selected by Governor Don Sundquist as Tennessee Ambassador of Goodwill in Claiborne County. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed working in her yard. She was always there to help a needy soul. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Patton Crutchfield; parents, Alexander Charles and Kate Hurst; daughters, Patsy Crutchfield, Little Billie Crutchfield; step-daughter, Phyllis Edmondson; grandson, Bradley Crutchfield; two infant grandsons; sisters, Betty Hurst and Zola Dean Venable. Survivors include her sons, Rev. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Marion Douglas; son, Joseph William Douglas. He was born May 14, 1940 in Anderson County to the late David and Nancy Ann Heatherly Hawkins. He was a member of the Clinch River Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and woodworking. He was a 3rd Degree Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jerry, Lee, Ronnie and Donnie Hawkins; sisters, Lillie May Hawkins. Ray Henegar, age 78 of Whitesburg died July 13 at East Tennessee Baptist Hospital in Knoxville. He was a member of The First Baptist Church of Morristown and was a Navy veteran. He taught Vocational Agriculture for 52 years, 45 of those years in Hamblen County. He was loved by his many students and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Silles Jackson and Litha Bowman Henegar; step-mother, Clara Henegar; brothers, Clyde and Julius Henegar. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles O. and Della Myers Sharp; sisters, Emma and Louise Sharp, Edna Rule Cherry and Elizabeth Gray; brothers, Henry, Casper and James Sharp.
