From The Knoxville News Sentinel 2 Jul 2004 KEITH, PATSY LOU - age 72, McGHEE, LEE ODIS - age 71 of Caryville SMITH, BETTY JEAN WARD - age 67 of Caryville, WALTERS, TOM J. - age 90, of Clinton, KEITH, PATSY LOU - age 72, left this old earthly world June 30, 2004 the same way she entered; fighting for her life. She was born at home weighing 3 1/2 pounds before incubators or baby formulas had been thought of. She spent her entire life in the same house on Maire Avenue, Clinton, Tennessee. After working for 5 years at Magnet Mills she became the first legal secretary of attorney, J. Carson Ridenour when he established what is now Ridenour & Ridenour in July 1956. She retired from Ridenour & Ridenour in 1993, some 47 years later. Patsy was quick witted, fast talking & right to the point. No matter the task, she loved to show everyone around her that she could do it faster. At 130 words per-minute, she was the ultimate tormentor of the old fashioned typewriter; and her sewing machine was just as fast. Patsy had many talents. She was always involved in arts & crafts. Not only did she grow beautiful flowers, she designed and made beautiful ceramic pots & vases she displayed them in. She was an accomplished artist (self taught) especially good at painting flowers, landscapes, still-life and interesting old dilapidated barns & grist mills. Patsy was a strong devoted Southern Baptist at Clinton First Baptist who always tithed. After her doctor told her she had cancer she immediately paid off the balance of her 2004 pledge. For decades she taught Sunday School & sang in the choir at First Baptist and was a generous patron of the church building expansion projects. She was also generous with her time helping others at the drop of a hat. Patsy was a past member of the Anderson County Women's Business and Professional Association. Patsy loved everything about cats, especially their strong willed independence; which she emulated in her daily life. Patsy was the daughter of the late R. Virgil & Clara Williams Keith of Clinton, Tennessee. She is survived by her brother, Joel & wife Betsy Keith of Nottingham, Maryland & her nieces; Judy & Alan Miller, Nancy & Glenn Kroneberger & Melony & Lee Bopst. Grand nephews are Justin Miller, Conner Bopst & Benjamin Kroneberger, and grand Niece, Abigail Kroneberger, the only girl born in the Kroneberger family in the last 94 years. We would like to thank all who helped Patsy & her brother, Joel on this last seven month journey. Patsy had many friends but we would like to especially thank, Patsy's good neighbors, life-long friends, her Sunday School Class at Clinton First Baptist & Joe & Lily Farmer who were so devoted, dedicated and always showed up in the nick of time.
