    2. From The Oak Ridger 1 Jul 2004 Judith Marvene Bryant, 60, of Harrison, Carl L. Colston, 76, of Snellville, Ga. Mary Ann McKeethan Fowlkes, 88, of Brevard, N.C., L.B. Mullins, 76, of Clinton, Judith Marvene Bryant, 60, of Harrison, died Wednesday, June 30, 2004, at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga. Mrs. Bryant was a 1962 graduate of Oak Ridge High School and was a member of Bayside Baptist Church in Harrison. Her family said she was a loving and caring person. Mrs. Bryant and her husband, Howard Douglas Bryant, were married June 30, 1962, and had been married 42 years to the date. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl V. Bennett Sr. and Annie Mae Slaton; a brother, Joel Robert Bennett Sr.; and by her sister, Glenda Bennett Hughes. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Bryant is survived by her son, Douglas Matthew Bryant, of Birchwood; her daughter, Judith "Cissy" Bryant Hamlin, of Birchwood; her grandson, Charlie Z. Hamlin, of Birchwood; and by two brothers, Donald C. Bennett of Cleveland and Carl V. Bennett Jr. of Washington, Mo. The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 3, 2004, in the chapel of Woodhaven Funeral Home in Claxton with the Rev. David Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Carl L. Colston, 76, of Snellville, Ga., died Tuesday, June 29, 2004, in Snellville. According to his family, Mr. Colston was a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by two daughters, Gail Dittmar of Oliver Springs and Lorie Kennedy of Sunbright; two sons, Larry Colston and Glenn Colston, both of Oliver Springs; and by two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2004, at Wages Snellville Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Cline and the Rev. Mark Davis officiating. Burial will be at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens in Snellville. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 1, at the funeral home. Mary Ann McKeethan Fowlkes, 88, of Brevard, N.C., died Wednesday, June 30, 2004, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, S.C. Born July 4, 1915, in Cairo, Ill., she was the daughter of George Pendleton McKeethan and Maude Ester Denton McKeethan. She was the widow of Charles Cleveland Fowlkes. Mrs. Fowlkes was the former owner and operator of Minit Chek in Oak Ridge, a homemaker and a member of the Oak Ridge Garden Club. Her family said she was an excellent seamstress and loved sewing, tailoring and quilting. She taught classes at the YWCA of Oak Ridge and at Blue Ridge community College. Mrs. Fowlkes was a member of First United Methodist Church in Brevard, where she was active with Bible study classes and the church circle. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Charles Cleveland Fowlkes II, and a daughter-in-law, Janice Reed Fowlkes. Mrs. Fowlkes is survived by her son, George Roland Fowlkes, of Fort Mill, S.C.; her daughter, Dr. Molly Fowlkes Coggins and husband, Miller, of Fort Mill; her daughter-in-law, Claudia Allen Fowlkes, of Danville, Va.; seven grandchildren, Gregory Victor Fowlkes, Jennifer Fowlkes Dressel, Robin Theresa Fowlkes Glontz, Michael Charles Fowlkes, Allison Marie Fowlkes, Dr. Mary Anna Coggins Ter Poorten and Reid Miller Coggins; and by five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 4, 2004, in the chapel of First United Methodist Church in Brevard with the Rev. Fred Jordon officiating. Wolfe Funeral Home in Fort Mill, S.C., is in charge of arrangements. L.B. Mullins, 76, of Clinton, died Wednesday, June 30, 2004, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
