She attended the Jacksboro United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard J. Bunch; parents, Edwin H. Hicks, Sr. and Rosa Hicks; brother, Edwin H. Hicks, Jr. ; sister, Icie Hicks. She is survived by her husband, Leon James Bunch of Caryville; daughters, Teresa Bunch of Caryville and Sharon L. Bunch Hall of Dayton, OH; brother, Carl Hicks and wife, Margaret of Jacksboro; sisters, Judy Ann Swanton and husband, Robert and Jeannie McGhee and husband, Bob all of New Carlisle, OH; half-sister, Susan Collins; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pennington Burcham, age 93 of LaFollette died Sept. 2 at St. Mary's Health and Rehab in LaFollette. She was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Burcham. She is survived by her sons and their wives, George and Fay Burcham, LaFollette, Gail M. and Bonnie Burcham, Hemet, CA, Charles F. and Dorothy Burcham, Warren, IND; nine grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Funeral services were Sept. 7 at Cedar Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Arnold officiating. Interment was in Campbell Memorial Gardens. Cross Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Arlie C. Davis, age 98 of LaFollette was born Sept. 15, 1905, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 1. She was the oldest member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and was active in W.M.U. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Richard Baxter Davis; sons, Edward and Ray Davis. She is survived by her daughter and husband, Linda and David Byrd of Powell; sons and wives, Richard and Lydia Davis of LaFollette and Roy and Peggy Davis of Alcoa; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; special friend, Donna Kibler. Funeral services were Sept. 3 at Cedar Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Arnold officiating. Interment was in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Cross Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Rosalie Margaret Ferrari of Powell died Sept. 3 at her home. She was born in New York City to the late Agostino and Mary Cuti Bonomolo. She was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Clinton. She loved traveling, reading, sewing, and playing cards. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lewis A. Ferrari. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Fadnek and husband, Richard of Powell; grandsons, Michael Fadnek, Powell and Ryan Fadnek, Powell; niece, Florence Shramm of Powell. Funeral mass was held Sept. 6 at St. Therese Catholic Church in Clinton with Father Gerard Finucane and Father Bill McKenzie officiating. Interment was in St. Anthony's Cemetery in New York. Hatmaker Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. John B. Freeman, age 83 of Jacksboro, died Sept. 1. at St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. His wife, Louise Freeman, preceded him in death in 1985. A retired welder, he was a member of the Lion's Club and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. A U.S. Army veteran of WWII, he was awarded many decorations and citations. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Owens and husband Ken of LaFollette; sons, Rev. Wayne Freeman and wife Mary of LaFollette, Arlis Freeman and wife Brenda of Jacksboro, and Dennis Freeman and wife Rene' of LaFollette; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Joe Freeman of Killeen, Texas; sisters, Jean Rogers Freeman of Corbin, KY, and Edna Dyer of Louisville, KY; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Graveside services were Sept. 4 at Ausmus Cemetery in Speedwell with his son, Rev. Wayne Freeman officiating. The Campbell County Honor Guard will conduct full military honors. Walters Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Unis (Boone) Jones, age 77 of Halls died Sept. 1 at St. Mary's Residential Hospice. He was a member of the Alice Bell Baptist Church. He was retired from the State of Tennessee Department of Revenue and later worked as a "Red Coat" at the Civic Coliseum. He was a 50 year member of the LaFollette Lodge F & AM and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Anna Smith Jones; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Scott Lawson; son, Terry Jones; grandsons, Patrick and wife, Caroline Lawson, Matthew Lawson, Zachary Lawson, Bradley Jones; granddaughter, Kelsie Jones; great granddaughter, Madeline Lawson, all of Knoxville; brothers, Wayne Jones of Knoxville, Clifton (Tip) Jones of LaFollette; sisters, Aileen Sharpe of Knoxville, Mary Goins of LaFollette; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were Sept. 2 in the Chapel with the Rev. Lee Kidwell officiating. Interment was in the Greenwood Cemetery. Stacy Lowe age 32 of LaFollette died Sept. 3 at his home. He was a member of the LaFollette First Baptist Church and the men's Sunday School Class. He was a graduate of Tennessee Tech. He was preceded in death by his brother, Christopher; grandparents, Johnny Phillips and Otha and Mary Lowe. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Lowe of LaFollette; parents, George and Patsy Lowe of Jacksboro; sisters, Angie Lowe of Knoxville and Brittany Lowe of Jacksboro; grandmother, Jane Phillips of Caryville; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clifford and Sharon Kohlmeyer of LaFollette; grandmother-in-law, Hazel Patterson of LaFollette; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Chuck and Christy Kohlmeyer and Jared and Amber Kohlmeyer all of LaFollette; niece and nephew, Cassie and Dalton Kohlmeyer; several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore R. & Virginia Brown Medford. He is survived by his sister, Faye Mefford, Lake City; aunts and uncles, Mary Lou Phillips and Faye and Herman Mefford all of Jacksboro; several nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends who helped him at any time they were needed. Memorial services will be held Sept. 11 at the Martin Wilson Chapel with Tim Mefford officiating. Interment will be in Campbell Memorial Gardens. Martin Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Richard Neal "Dick" Miller, age 70 of Oneida died suddenly Sept. 2 at his home. He was born in Ohio on Aug. 6, 1934 to the late Harold G. Miller and Helen Peddler Miller. He was a member of the First Moravian Church in Dover, OH. He was a member and past master of the Oneida Lodge 695, 32nd Scottish Rite, York Rite and Shriner with the Kerbela Temple. He was a member and past president of the Scott County Chamber of Commerce. He served in the United States Navy for two years and retired from the U.S. Coast Guard. He was the owner and operator of McDonalds in Oneida celebrating 30 years of service. He was a loving and devoted husband, dad, papaw and great papaw. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. His hobby was to go four wheeling with his friends when he had time and was a member of the Mountain ATV Club. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Charlotte Wiemer; wife, Doris Taylor Miller; great grandson, Zackery Hamilton. He is survived by his wife, Mary Kathern (Kitty) Bridges Miller; sons, Augie Mattheiss and wife, Joanna of Columbia, Maryland, Warren Ellis and wife, Michelle, Paul Ellis and fiancé, Sherri Powell, Ronald Ellis and wife, Tammy and Donald Ellis and wife, Becky, all of Oneida; daughters, Ruthie Walker and husband, Wade of Helenwood, Sharon Kinney and husband, Steve of Fairfield, OH; 14 grandchildren, four great grandchildren; several other relatives and friends. Freeman Pierce, age 84 of Speedwell was born April 12, 1920 and died Sept. 1 at Claiborne County Hospital. He was a member of Carr's Chapel Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Milda Capps Pierce; parents, Goerge and Sintha Russell Pierce; sister, Lettie Beeler; infant son and brother. He was of the Church of God Faith. He loved to piddle with mechanics and enjoyed fishing. He was preceded in death by one great grandchild; parents, John Bailey and Nancy Jane Ford Riggs. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Pam Riggs and Carlos and Karen Riggs; son, Teddy Riggs; daughter, Karen Riggs; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; brothers, Henderson, Gary Lee, and Cecil Archer all of LaFollette; George Riggs of MI; sisters, Dorothy Bolinger and Alma Jean Daugherty both of LaFollette; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and son. He loved working on cars and going fishing. He was preceded in death by his brother, Little Joe Seiber; nephew, Mattthew Nelson. She was a lifetime member of the Jacksboro United Methodist Church. She was a member of AARP having retired from teaching after 29 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, John William Woodson on July 23, 1971; daughter, Helen Wilson on July 23, 1975 ;parents, Ezra and Mattie Delap Daugherty. She is survived by her grandchildren, Lisa Jane Lee and Nora Ann Wilson; great grandchildren, Jessica Desha Bowling, Danna Sierra and Lindsy Marie Lee; brother, EB Daugherty of Chicago, IL; sisters, Evelyn Daugherty of East Bernstat, KY, Sherry Daugherty of Cleveland, OH, Ellen Lenore of Huntsville, AL; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
