She was a member of Fincastle United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Alice Siler; husband, Frank Claiborne; brothers, Charlie, John, James and Walter Siler; sisters, Ethel Siler and Mary Craig. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Juanita Claiborne; daughter, Fay Claiborne and friend, Robert Marlow; grandchildren, Richard Claiborne , Cheryl Liles and husband, David; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Clem Riggs, Cincinnati, OH; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were Aug. 27 at Fincastle United Methodist Church with Rev. Kevin Cole officiating. Interment was in the Church Cemetery. Cross Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Louella Ellison, age 68 of Hopkinsville, KY, formerly of Williamsburg, KY died Aug. 30 at Western State Nursing Facility in Hopkinsville, KY. She was born May 15, 1936 in Mountain Ash, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents, Coloston and Fannie King Ellison; brother, Carl Ellison; sister, Christine Wright. She is survived by her sisters, Wanda Smith and husband, Stanley of West Chester, OH, Dorothy Prewitt and husband, Ronald of Van Wert, OH, Betty Jo Ellison of Falmouth, KY; brother, Bill R. Ellison of Williamsburg, KY. Funeral services will be Thursday, Sept. 2 at the Cox and Son Chapel with Rev. Ronald Prewitt officiating. Interment will be in the Douglas Cemetery. Cox and Son Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. David Johnson, age 52 of LaFollette died Aug. 24 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was a member of the Ivey Dale Pentecostal Church of God. He loved to work and took great pride in his workmanship. He always helped anyone who needed a hand. David was a loving husband, and father who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bulia and Sylvia Wilson Johnson; brothers, James, Earl, Ernest, Garfield, Walt, Glen, Mark Junior, Gene; sisters, Ruby White, Rose Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Tammy Johnson of LaFollette; son, Darrell Johnson of Caryville; sisters, Ella May Hickman and Alice Faye Johnson both of LaFollette, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were Aug. 27 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Junior Dilbeck officiating. Interment was in Peabody Cemetery. Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. James "Jim" M. Jordan, age 81 of Webster Springs, WV, formerly of Jacksboro died Aug. 25 at his home. He enjoyed working in the garden. He was Methodist by faith and a member of the Barton United Methodist Church. He was a member of the UMWA, the VFW 3738 and served in the U.S. Army as a Pvt. 1st class. During his time in the service he received a Bronze Star, a Purple Heart in Oct. 1944 and another in March 1945 He was preceded in death by his father, Emmett Jordan; mother, Rose Robinson Jordan; brother, John Jordan; sister, Elizabeth Jordan; nephew, Jimmy Jordan; niece, Jackie Schrom. He is survived by his son, Steve and wife, Joyce Jordan of Webster Springs, WV, James II and wife, Deborah Jean Jordan of Sutton, WV; grandson, Todd Jordan of Charleston, WV, granddaughter, Jimmie Beth Jordan Swain; sisters, Mary Lou Schrom of Royal Oak, MI, Nora Jane Jordan of Detroit, MI, Charlotte Shadrick of Jacksboro, Sue Moses of Knoxville. Dodd and Reed Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. William E. Miller of Dayton, OH, formerly of Jacksboro died Aug. 18. He was born March 29, 1923. He was a veteran of World War II and retired from General Motors in Dayton, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ella Mae Miller; brothers, Homer Lee and James "Luddy" Miller; sisters, Emma Brummett and Arleen Kronour; nephew, William Cantrell. He is survived by his sisters, Ruth Hickey and Mary Barton; brother, Billy Joe Miller, Dayton, OH; several nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. Overbay of LaFollette departed this life on Aug. 24 at her daughters' home in Knoxville. She was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church, and the Order of Eastern Star, Cumberland Mountain #137. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert E. Overbay; sister, Gracie Kidwell; brother, Ancil Tidwell; mother and father, Sally and Henry Tidwell. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Fay and Charles W. Cross Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Virginia Partin, age 82 of Lake Charles, LA, formerly of New Lebanon, OH went home to be with the Lord on Aug.24 at the Golden Age Nursing Home. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Dayton, OH. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Jeramy Shockey; parents, William and Maratha Longmire; sisters, Wilma Longmire, Mary Ford, Grace Reynolds; brothers, Jack and Ed Longmire. Prosise; sister, Lucille Fox. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Ova Simpson, age 74 of LaFollette died Aug. 24 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was an ordained minister of the Baptist faith and served as Pastor in several of the local Churches. He was a missionary for Haiti and jail ministry for Campbell County. He was a loving husband, son and brother who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Oza Simpson. He is survived by his wife, Mary Rose Marcum Simpson of LaFollette; mother, Bertha Hill Simpson Tharpe of Knoxville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Luster and Sue Simpson and Oza and Marlene Simpson all of Caryville; brother: H. L. Simpson; sisters, Mildred Moon of Knoxville; Gladys Stevens of Huntsville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gerldine and Oscar Brock of Jacksboro; Vivian and Otis Lindsay of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. William Leon Tibbs, age 79 of LaFollette, born Oct. 28, 1924 died Aug. 25 at St. Mary's Hospice Center in Halls. He was a member of the LaFollette Church of God, a World War II Veteran and was retired from TVA after 35 years of service. He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Tibbs and father, George Tibbs. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Eloise Mink Tibbs; brother, Willard Tibbs; sisters, Lemond Carroll and Betty Baird; children, Linda and Richard Brooks, Eddie Tibbs, Shirley and Paul Sweat, Larry and Glenna Tibbs; grandchildren, Ricky Brooks, Tommy Brooks, Alan Brooks, Pam Millican, Paul Sweat Jr., Patrick Sweat, Charlotte Noe, Adam Bullock, Rebecca Patterson, Robin Tibbs and Shenna Tibbs. Funeral services were Aug. 28 at the LaFollette Church of God with Rev. Merrell Campbell and Rev. Norman Stallings officiating. Interment was in the Powell Valley Cemetery with Rev. Betty Jo Worrill, age 75 of Lake City died Aug. 24 at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. She was born Nov. 28, 1928 in Anderson County to the late Fred and Nell Wyatt Diggs. She was a member of the Lake City United Methodist Church. She loved playing Bingo, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Worrill; daughter, Donna Gail Robin. She is survived by her son, Roger and Cindy Worrill, Slidell, LA; daughters, Marianne and Greg Gremillion, Lake City and Sharon Dee Worrill, Lake City; brother, Jack Diggs, Huntsville; grandchildren, Scott Robin, San Antonio, TX, Angela Atchley, Slidell, LA, Jacob Worrill, Slidell, LA, Jacob Gremillion, Lake City, Travis Gremillion, Lake City; great grandchildren, Brennan Atchley, Slidell, LA and Jayden Atchley, Slidell, LA; special friends, JoAnn and Moto Massengill and Mevelene Daugherty.
