From the Knoxville News Sentinel 2 Sep 2004 RAPER, BERTHA - age 74, of Andersonville, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at her home. She was a member of Big Valley Open Door Independent Church and was preceded in death by: her husband, Homer Raper. She is survived by: her son and daughter-in-law, David and Jennifer Raper of Corryton; daughters and son-in-laws, Loretta and Jim Crowe of Georgia, Jennita and Terry Hutchinson of Andersonville, Elizabeth and Darrell Garner of New Market, Diane and Ronnie Reynolds of Knoxville, Karen and Dale Henry of Morristown, Reba and Billy Robertson of Knoxville, Linda Miller of Knoxville, Vadia Marie Allen of Knoxville; daughter-in-law, Libbie Raper of Knoxville; 30 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; sister, Martha Hickman of Jefferson City; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 3, 2004 from the McCarty Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Roger Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.
