B. - age 80, a resident of Coalfield, GROSS, BERTIE MARTIN - age 85 of Jacksboro, KIMBELL, EDWIN "ED" W. - age 52 of Jacksboro WILSON, JUANITA NAOMI MAY age 79, DAUGHERTY, D. B. - age 80, a resident of Coalfield, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was born January 26, 1924 in Anderson County, and was a lifelong resident of this area. He was a member of Middle Creek Baptist Church. He was also a United States Army Veteran who served his country during World War II. He retired from T.V.A., where he had worked in Boiler Maintenance. Mr. Daugherty's special interest was woodworking and farming. He was fondly known as "THE FARMER" by many of his friends. Preceded in death by: parents, Watson Daugherty and Mary Goad Daugherty; by three brothers, Odie, Jodie, and Ovie Daugherty; and by two sisters, Novella Daugherty and Offella McCoy. Survivors: wife, Naomi Jackson Daugherty of Coalfield; son, Steve Watson Daugherty and wife Sherry of Coalfield; daughter, Sandra Justice & husband, Byron of Coalfield; grandchildren, Kayla Nicole Justice of Coalfield, Stewart Watson Daugherty of Coalfield; great granddaughter, Hayle Nicole Daugherty of Coalfield. Mitchell Chadwick was considered as a farming buddy and special friend. Also survived by a host of nieces & nephews, special friends and extended family members. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 7:30 pm, Thursday, September 23, 2004 at Sharp Funeral Home with funeral service following the visitation at 7:30 pm, in the Chapel with Rev. Don Daugherty and Rev. Michael Beech officiating. Burial and graveside service will be held 11:00 am, Friday at the Estes Cemetery in Coalfield. She was a member of Cumberland View Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, Walter Gross; parents, Newton Mitchell & Grace Martin; brothers, Rex Martin, N.M. (Bud) Martin and sister, Mabel Peterman and Emma Love Brewer. She is survived by sons, Richard Gross, Jacksboro, Martin Timothy Gross, Sapula, Okla., Walter Eugene Gross, Jacksboro; daughter, Sondra Raines, Jacksboro; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren; sisters, Beulah Williams, Jacksboro, Babs Hatmaker, Jacksboro, Bettie Martin, Jacksboro, Joanne Hughes, Chattanooga. Funeral services 10 a.m. Saturday, September 25 at Cumberland View Baptist Church, Rev. Bobby Ray Wilson and Rev. Paul Martin officiating. Interment Cumberland View Cemetery. Arrangements by Cross Funeral Home. KIMBELL, EDWIN "ED" W. - age 52 of Jacksboro passed away Monday, September 20, 2004 at the U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville. Ed was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was also a very loving and caring person. Ed was a Marine Veteran of the Vietnam conflict. He was preceded in death by parents; brother: Dale Kimbell; sisters: Julie and Nancy Kimbell. Mr. Kimbell is survived by wife: Mildred Kimbell; sons and daughters-in-law: John and Crystal Kimbell all of Jacksboro; Brian and Jennifer Kimbell of LaFollette; daughter: Jennifer Kimbell of Huntington Beach, CA; 6 grandchildren: Tyler, Taylor, Tanner, Devin, Justin, and Megan Kimbell; brothers: Allen Kimbell of FL; Jim Kimbell of Buena Park, CA; sisters: Debbie Charbonaeu and Millie Kimbell of CA; Barbie Kimbell of VA; and Mary Desatel of USA; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 8 PM Thursday, September 23 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Lawson officiating. WILSON, JUANITA NAOMI MAY age 79, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 19, 2004 at St. Mary's Hospital in Knoxville. She was the 4th child born to Frank and Laura May. She is survived by: daughters and sons-in- law, Wilma & Elmer Cole of Hixson, TN, Rissa & Alvin Ward of Jacksboro, Dodie & Wally Reed of LaFollette, Doris & George Stanfield of LaFollette; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Frankie Hatmaker of Baltimore, Md; brother, Bobby May of Jacksboro, several nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. Family and friends will meet at 7pm, on Thursday, September 23rd at Jacksboro First Baptist Church for receiving of friends and memorial service at 8pm. In order to help others her last wishes were to have her body donated to UT Medical Science.
