I would have preferred to continue enjoying living, however, I was not offered that option. My pleasure in life was greatly enhanced for 61 years , married April 18, 1943, my dear partner Lillian, and for shorter but equally pleasant periods by our son Eugene, our daughter Elizabeth, their partners, Susan and Edward, our grandchildren, Phaedra, Nicole, Thomas, and Lillian Elizabeth. Those of you who knew me know of my successes and failures, my joys and sorrows, my strengths and weaknesses, and my talents and failings. Those of you who did not know me have no reason to care. If any of you feel the urge to memorialize my departure, I suggest you do so with a party. Feel free to drink anything that I lacked the time to drink myself. I led the life I wanted, I loved the life I led, I end it with no regrets. Feel no regrets for me." Eugene C.
