He was a member of Charity Baptist Church. He retired from Acme Plaster Company in Knoxville as a Foreman. He loved horses & chickens. Preceded in death by: parents, Earnest & Christine Holt Early; & brother, Charles Early. Survivors: wife, Effie Jones Early of Andersonville; daughters, Debbie Early of Andersonville, Christy & husband Franklin Brown of Andersonville; grandchildren, Amanda, Tracy & Bre-Anna Brown of Andersonville; brothers, Leon & wife Jeanette Early of Andersonville, Roy & wife Barbara Early of Andersonville, Clifford & wife Brenda Early of Andersonville, Hubert Early of Clinton; sister, Betty Sherrod of Clinton; special friends, Ronnie & Lela Hall of Clinton; several nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm, Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with funeral services following in the chapel with Rev. Bobby Hatfield & Rev. Preceded in death by: his parents, William Carl Hayley and Violet Potter Hayley Hicks; brother, Maanix Hayley; sister, Laura Odell; and one granddaughter, Amy Essex. Surviving: wife of 51 years, Bernice Olmstead Hayley; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Joy Hayley, of Oak Ridge; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Cecil Essex, of Cookeville; four granddaughters; Leah and husband, Andy Kelley, Candi and husband, Seth Blankenship, Bethany Hayley and fiancée, Dustin McKinney, all of Marion, N.C., Lauren Essex, of Cookeville; one grandson, Andrew Essex; and one great granddaughter, Adara Kelley, of Marion, N.C.
