He was a member of the Clinchmore Church of God and employed by Empire Refrigeration. He enjoyed hunting and loved his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, George S. and Ada Phillips Burchfield; brothers, Dewey Lee, Ray and Billy Burchfield. Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Richard L. Davis, age 89 died Sept. 14 at Manor of Whitehall. He was born Jan. 25, 1915 in LaFollette. He was retired from DCSC after 30 years of service; he was USMC veteran World War II Pacific Theatre, Iwo Jima and the Korean Conflict. He was a former member of North Broadway United Methodist Church and First Baptist Church of Columbus. He loved country music, the New York Yankees and Ohio State football. He was preceded in death by his son, Rodney Alan Davis; former wives, Pauline Marsh Davis and Mildred F. Davis; sisters, Marie Davis and Grace Lang; brothers, Lawrence Johnson, Mack Davis and Buck Davis. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Karen Davis of Cantfield, Oh; grandchildren, Sunny Holland, Josh Davis, Sandy Ewing, Zachary Davis, Kathryn Davis and Jacob Davis; eight great grandchildren; nephews, Jim and Jerry Davis of LaFollette; niece, Clara and husband, Paul Young and their family of Clinton and LaFollette. Thomas Wayne Freeman, age 57 of Oak Ridge/Sunbright, formerly of Lake City died Sept. 20 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was an employee of Methodist Medical Center where he had worked for over 25 years as an anesthesia tech. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Carrie Worthington Freeman; sisters, Dean Tackett, Marsha Diane Freeman, Faye Stocks; brother, Ken Freeman. She was a member of the Jacksboro Church of Christ. Brenda was a very loving and caring person who was kind and had a great love for animals. She was the co-owner of the Texaco Express Lube of Jacksboro. She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar Brock. She is survived by her husband, David Hatmaker; sons and daughter-in-law, Bradley Shane and Lisa Hatmaker; David Scott Hatmaker; mother, Rosa Jackson Brock; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and John Perkins all of Caryville; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Danny Ausmus. She is survived by her son, Chelan A. and wife, April Martinez; granddaughter, Angel A. Martinez, all of LaFollette; mother, Alicia S. Mullins Jr., age 79 of LaFollette died Sept.17 at 6:45 AM at the St. Mary's of Campbell County Medical Center Nursing Home. He belonged to LaFollette United Methodist Church. He was a Veteran of World War II having served in the Navy. He belonged to Jacksboro Masonic Lodge #322 F and AM, he worked at Union Carbide of Oak Ridge Y-12 plant for 22 _ years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed being with his great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry R. Mullins SR. and Isbell Trowbridge Mullins; sister, Charolette Quillen; a special uncle and aunt, Bob and Vera Delap. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Christine Ridenour Mullins; daughter and son-in-law: Nora Lou and George Ellison all of LaFollette; grandchildren, Rev. She was born July 25, 1934 in Campbell County to the late Rosher and Tennie McKamey Burress. She was a member of the Free Communion Baptist Church in Devonia. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved quilting. She was a wonderful mother. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Martha Jane Seiber; sisters, Pearl Hood, Beulah Brown and Susie Hall. She was member of Mount Paron Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, and reading. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Sheckles, son, Fred Sheckles and infant son; great grandchild, Bailey Ivey; parents, Jim and Isabelle Lawson Smith; brother; Clyde Smith;sisters; Maye Albright and Juanita Savage. She was born April 26, 1937 to the late Paul Neal Caperton, Sr. and Maxie Wade McGee Caperton; wife of the late William Oscar Stults, Jr.; sister of the late, Paul N. Caperton, Jr. She was a member of the Green River Baptist Church and the church choir. She was a retired factory worker and foster grandparent at Waynesboro Elementary School. She is survived by her daughter, Paula L. Middleton, Lewisburg, TN; sons, Ricky G. Stults, Sr., Speedwell, Dave A. and William Barry Stults, both of Waynesboro; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren; sisters, Lois Butler, Lawrenceburg, TN, Ruth Hayes, Sheffield, Al, Neva Odle and Shirley Kilburn, both of Collinwood, TN and Billie Dodd, Waynesboro, TN; brothers, Frank, Edward, Larry and Stanley Caperton of Lawrenceburg, TN; several nieces and nephews. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also loved to sew. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Paris Ward; sons, Ricky and Timmy Ward; parents, Rev. Matthew and Bell E. Phillips Duncan; brothers, Albert, Harvey and Jimmy Duncan; sisters, Polly Seibers, Ellen Byrge, and Mary Wilson. She is survived by her son, Paris Ward of LaFollette; daughter, Dorothy Williams of Jacksboro; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Juanita Naomi May Wilson, age 79 went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 19 at the St. Mary's Hospital in Knoxville. She was the fourth child born to Frank and Laura May. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Wilma and Elmer Cole of Hixson, Rissa and Alvin Ward of Jacksboro, Dodie and Wally Reed, of LaFollette, Doris and George Stanfield of LaFollette; nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; sister, Frankie Hatmaker of Baltimore, MD; brother, Bobby May of Jacksboro; several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Memorial services will be held Sept. 23 at 8 p.m. at the Jacksboro First Baptist Church; the receiving of friends will begin at 7 p.m. In order to help others her last wishes were to have her body donated to UT Medical Science.
