From the Knoxville News sentinel 30 Sep 2004 MARLOW, SHARON ANN CORDELL - age 57, of Clinton, MARLOW, SHARON ANN CORDELL - age 57, of Clinton, went home peacefully to be with Jesus September 29, 2004 at her residence after a long, courageous, and faithful battle with cancer. She was a member of Poplar Creek Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of WMU. Sharon was preceded in death by her father Hugh Cordell; brothers, H.L. & Donald Cordell. Survivors: best friend & husband of 39 years, Lawrence Marlow of Clinton; son, Gene & wife Tammy Marlow of Clinton; daughters, Michelle & husband Dewayne Bailey of Lake City, Jessica & husband Shaun Ray of Clinton; two very special grandsons, Brandon Marlow & Reece Bailey who were the joy of her life; mother, Lillian Cordell of LaFollette; sisters, Brenda & husband Don Shelton of Jacksboro, Betty Ray of LaFollette; brothers, Gary & wife Debbie Cordell of Jacksboro, J.C. & wife Anna Cordell of Knoxville; several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and a multitude of friends. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, September 30, 2004 at Poplar Creek Baptist Church with funeral services following with Rev. Greg Brewer & Rev. Bill Dawson officiating. The burial will be 11:00 AM, Friday at Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Sharon requested that donations be made to the building fund of Poplar Creek Baptist Church.
