MARTIN, DOROTHY IRENE - 84, of Oak Ridge, McCABE, ZACK T. - age 80 of Oak Ridge, formerly of Kingston, SEIBER, TRULA - age 70 of Powell, formerly of Devonia, TN, BORUM, JAMES EDWARD - age 87, a resident of Oliver Springs, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 15, 2004. Mr. Borum was born August 11, 1917 in Oliver Springs. He was a lifelong resident of this area. He was a beloved husband, father, papaw, and friend to all who knew him. He was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and he retired from Union-Carbide in 1982. Mr. Borum was preceded in death by: his parents, Roy H. Borum Sr., and Mattie Crass Borum; by a brother, Lawrence Borum; and sisters, Ruth Bell, Alice Childs, and Lela Mae Parten. Survivors: wife, Etta Borum of Oliver Springs; sons, Ron Borum and wife Tammy of Harriman, Mike Borum and wife Edna of Halls; daughter, Gloria Borum of Knoxville; grandchildren, Travis, Jamie Melia and Brooklynn Borum, Josh and Heather Hensley, Courtney and Dakota Workman; brother, Roy Borum and wife Phyllis of Oliver Springs; sisters, Mattie Lou Lee of Oliver Springs, Edna Acuff and husband Bill of Solway; brother-in-law, Bob Parten of Oliver Springs; sisters-in-law, Della Morrison and husband Bill, Dot Borum, Ruth Blair, and Rena Rayfield. Mr. Borum is also survived by: several nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Wendy Pullen. The family will receive friends Friday, between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 pm at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church of Oliver Springs, with funeral services following at 8:00 pm with Pastor Garvan Walls and Rev. Keith Price officiating. (SAM) SR. local business man, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004 at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, at the age of 93. He was born in Greenville, S. C. on Aug. 19, 1911 and moved to Columbia, S. C. as a young man. He came to Oak Ridge in 1943 to work in construction before going with Union Carbide in 1945 where he worked at K-25 as a supervisor in the maintenance department. He opened Solway Hardware & Builders Supply in the Solway Community in 1955. Upon leaving Union Carbide in 1957, he devoted his full time to Solway Hardware and developing and building residential and commercial rental property in Solway and Oak Ridge. He was a 50 year member of the Grand Lodge Free & Accepted Masons of Tennessee, Lodge #756, of Oak Ridge. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Jolly Roy and Maude Lee Holcombe; a brother, Elliot Roy Holcombe; and a sister, Daisy Carpenter. He is survived by: his wife of 66 years, Estelle Mundy Holcombe; sons, Jolly B. Holcombe Jr. of Solway, and Warren Holcombe of Greenville, SC. He is also survived by: a sister, Grace Malphrus of Harlingen, Texas; and two grandchildren, Cheryl Holcombe of Knoxville and Troy Holcombe of Claxton. She was born March 8, 1920 in Hickory, North Carolina, the daughter of Marshall Cecil Abee and Sara Marie Leanna Lail Abee. Mrs. Martin was a homemaker and a member of Central Baptist Church. She was an excellent seamstress and also enjoyed crocheting and embroidery. When her health permitted, she also loved to tend her garden and can the vegetables. Another great enjoyment for her was her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Arthur Pershing Martin, May 9, 2002 and her twin sister, Doris Abee Throneburg, this past March. She is survived by: sons, Ronald M.
