He was of Church of God faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Millard H. Blackwell; wife of 40 years, Elizabeth. He loved bowling and was a big Tennessee Volunteer Fan and all sporting events. He also loved spending time with family and friends. He worked at Star Sales in Knoxville for many years. He was a faithful member and deacon of Brainerd Hills Baptist Church as well as a member of the James Sunday School Class. He was born Feb. 25, 1929 in Chattanooga, but soon after he and his family moved to Jellico. While growing up in Jellico he attended Jellico High School, where he served as captain of the football team and from where he graduated in 1949. While living in Jellico he served as an active member and as a deacon of the First Baptist Church. In the early 1970's he was a member of the Campbell County School Board and Chairman of the Election Commission. He was 32nd degree Mason of the Jellico Lodge #527 F&AM, after moving to Chattanooga he transferred his membership to the Whorley Lodge #601 F&AM, and was also a member of the Alhambra Shrine Temple. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Faulkner and Dusta Leasch Faulkner; siblings, Martha Faulkner, Jimmy Faulkner, Robert Lee Faulkner, Sr., Mary Cate and Johnny Faulkner. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Phyllis Mays Faulkner; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret F. and William R. Long, Sr.; daughter, Madeline F.
