Hello Shirley, Yes, I know about this family. I am not that familiar with this particular individual family but have seen them in various genealogical materials. They are descendants of John M. Lay father of Spencer. I also have Spencer's obit which appeared in the West Union Association of Baptists in, I think 1885??. I know it was a while before the memorial service was given.
