Hello All, I have some people looking for a Naomi ( Lay ) Roberts, ( maybe various spellings of the name Naomi? ) She was the wife of a John Roberts who was a early resident of Campbell County, Claiborne County TN. The evidence suggests that this family was closely associated with the Lays of the Big Valley area in what is now Union County, possibly Big Valley Dave Lay's family. John Roberts bought land from Conrad Sharp and I would guess this land would be in the area of Sharps Chapel in now Union County. Or maybe Sharps Fort as it may have been called then. Would you have any information that would help in the search for Naomi Lay's parentage or any info concerning this John Roberts family? Any info would be appreciated. Gerald, I have Lays that started in Campbell County and then went to Knox County Ky. But this Namoi Lay isn't in my line. Please let me know what you find on her. My husbands mother was a Lay and this is part of my tree. Let me know if this is your Lay Family. I have a picture of John Finnley Lay and Rosa Burch. Alot of my info I got from my Husbands grandmother who just passed in August at the age of 95. I also have some pics of some of the family tombstones. I find it funny that I was lead back to Campbell County for my in=laws, that is where my father was from and all of his family.
