HAROLD GENE - age 58 of LaFollette passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. He was a Technology Teacher at LaFollette Middle School, a member of T.E.A., and a member of the Blue Masonic Lodge in Latonia, KY. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Cox and brother, David Cox. Survivors: wife, Mrs. Tena Cox of LaFollette, 4 daughters, Sonja Chilcutt, Clarksville, TN, Samantha Shirley, Erlanger, KY, Christy McDonald, Jacksboro, and Jill Shoffner, Oak Ridge; two sons, Darrell Gene Cox, Harrogate, TN and George Christopher Barker, Bryson City, NC; mother, Mrs. Bobbie G. Cox, Morning View, KY.; brother Daniel W. Cox, Morning View, KY; 11 grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services Saturday 11a.m.at Walters Chapel with Rev. Matthew Robbins officiating. Interment at Calvary Cemetery in Corbin, KY. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8p.m.Friday at Walters Funeral Home with Masonic Services at 8p.m.Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Harold Gene Cox. GARRETT, BEATRICE - age 79, residing at Bright Horizons of Jacksboro, Tennessee passed away Monday March 15, 2004 at St. Mary's Select Specialty Hospital in Knoxville. Preceded in death by parents, Robert Henry Garrett and Lula Foust Garrett. Survivors, brother, Von Henry Garrett; brother and sister-in-law, Berlen and Gladys Garrett; nieces and nephews, Von Ray and Sharon Garrett of Chattanooga, Lois and David Williams of Dawsonville, Ga. Ellis and Gay Cox of Knoxville and Blanche Kingston of Virginia. Special thanks to staff and caregivers at Bright Horizons, Larry Chadwell and Harold Smith with the state of Tennessee, Jerry Askew and the staff of St. Mary's Medical Center and caregivers at Select Specialty Hospital. Family and friends will meet 1:45 pm Thursday at Clapps Chapel Cemetery for a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Irby Russell and Dr. Phil Young officiating. Friends may call at their convenience Wednesday at Mynatt Funeral Home. WELLS, JT "HACK" - age 76 of LaFollette passed away Monday, March 15, 2004 at the St. Mary's Medical Center in Knoxville. He was a member of Indiana Avenue Baptist Church. Mr. Wells was a loving husband, father, and grand father who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. He retired from the LaFollette Utilities with 30 years of services. Preceded in death by grandson: Brandon Scott Wells; parents: George W. and Flora Baird Wells; sisters: Martha Giandelia and Lorene Gladson. Survived by wife: Ella Wells of LaFollette; sons and daughters in law: Terry and Cynthia Wells of Knoxville, Scott and Christine Wells of LaFollette; granddaughter: Nikki Wells of LaFollette; brothers and sisters in law: William and Voncile Wells of Montgomery, Alabama, Sam and Elinor Wells of Coeur D Alene, Idaho; sisters: Eva Romonello of St. Petersburg, FL, Mary Murray of Jacksboro and Betty Carson of LaFollette; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 8 PM Wednesday, March 17 in Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Mark Partin officiating. Interment is 11 AM Thursday in Jacksboro Cemetery with the Campbell Co. Honor Guard in charge of graveside services. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday night before funeral services.
