Faye was a member of First Baptist Church in Briceville, TN. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and she loved to garden so that she could give produce to friends and family that she raised. Faye was preceded in death by: parents, Millard & Lola Woodward; and brother, Neal Woodward. Survivors: husband of 54 years, George W. ROBERTS, MABEL ELIZABETH McCOMB GLEAVES - 96, of Jellico, TN, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2004, at Beech Tree Manor, Jellico. She was born Sept. 16, 1907 to Henry Barret McComb and Mabel Stuart McComb. She graduated from Jelllico High School, attended Hollins College in Virginia and graduated from the University of Tennessee where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. She taught English and French at Jellico High School for over thirty years and was honored as 1992 Alumni Award Recipient at "Mabel Roberts Day". She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Jellico. Preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Robert Harvey Gleaves and Harvey Roberts; sisters, Dorothy McComb Finley, Helen McComb Bealle and Jane McComb Cooper; brothers, Jeffries McComb and Billy McComb. She is survived by step-daughter, Vivien Roberts Bell; step-granddaughters, Judith Bell Clark and Nancy Bell Rockey; nieces, Annie Finley Arrington, Bette Finley Purdy, Mary Stuart McComb Neely and Susan Palmer Bayless; nephews, James Bealle and Dr. Robert Palmer; sister-in-law, Mary Love McComb; several great nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: son, James Franklin Tilley; parents, Bruce M. & Cora Ella Weaver Fondaw; husband, James A. Tilley; brother; sister; & 2 grandsons.
