>From the Oak Ridger 11 Mar 2004 Laura Evelyn Hensley, 67, of Oliver Springs, Vada Lee Williams, 90, of Clinton, Gilbert Earl Woodall Sr., 70, of Farragut, Jack Alford, 72, of Knoxville, Dorothy Capps, 74, of Oliver Springs, Thomas Francis Doughty, 24, of the U.S. Navy, Charles Kimblin, 51, of Harriman, \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ Laura Evelyn Hensley, 67, of Oliver Springs, died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Born Oct. 25, 1936, in Rossville, Ga., she was the daughter of Carl M. Neal and Leona Alice White. Mrs. Hensley moved to Oak Ridge in 1948 and then moved to Chattanooga where they resided for 16 years. She lived in Charlotte, N.C., for 12 years, and then moved back to Oliver Springs for her remaining years. She was a member of Frost Bottom Baptist Church and attended Batley Baptist Church until her illness. She taught Sunday school while living in Chattanooga. She was owner and operator of Hensley's Fabric in the late 1970s to early 1980s. She had worked for Gerber Clothing Manufacturing in North Carolina before moving to Tennessee. After coming to Tennessee, she worked for Roane Hosiery Mill. According to her family, Mrs. Hensley enjoyed baking, sewing and working in her flowers. Her family said she loved helping her family and friends in her spare time, and was an avid University of Tennessee sports fan. Before going into business for herself, she did seamstress work out of her home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Valerie Annette Hensley, and by two brothers, Glen Neal and Ernest Neal. Mrs. Hensley is survived by her husband of 46 years, Wilburn Hensley; her daughter, Nancy Rebecca "Becky" Parker and husband, Richard Allen Parker, of Rossville, Ga.; her son, Randy Lynn Hensley and wife, Terri, of Clinton; and by five grandchildren, Jeremiah, Jonathan, Angel, Christopher and Nikki. She is also survived by her brother, Marvin Neal and wife, Pat, of Clinton; two sisters, Bettye Patterson and husband, Charles, of Oak Ridge, and Alice Novella Eakes and husband, Jim, of Plant City, Fla.; five sisters-in-law, Jean H. Carter, Ruby Brown, Gladys L. Seiber, Mary Collett, all of Oliver Springs, and Jeanette Lively of Wartburg; three brothers-in-law, the Rev. Oscar E. Hensley of Oak Ridge, Cordell Hensley of LaFollette and Willie V. Hensley of Oliver Springs; special friends, Carol Meece and Brenda Nell, both of Oliver Springs, Dodie Davis of Chattanooga, and Brenda Cardwell of Rosswell, Ga.; and by several extended family members including cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2004, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs with the Rev. Luke Kidwell and the Rev. Lonnie Dison officiating Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 13, at Anderson Memorial Gardens on the Oliver Springs Highway in Clinton. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Vada Lee Williams, 90, of Clinton, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Her family said she was a devoted pastor's wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Williams was a member of Marble City Baptist Church in Knoxville. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Maude Anderson. Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband of 71 years, the Rev. George Williams; her son, Ronnie Williams and wife, Bobbie, of Clinton; her daughter, Betty Brooks and husband, Jack, of Clinton; her grandson, Mark Williams and fiancee, Lyndsay Hill, of Clinton; and by her sister-in-law, Christie Sowders, of Clinton. Her family said they would like to send a special thanks to the staff and residents at Morning Pointe Assisted Living in Clinton. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2004, at Second Baptist Church in Clinton with the Rev. Henry Linkenfelter, the Rev. W.C. Carlton, the Rev. Ronald Guthrie and the Rev. Mike Thompson officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 12, at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church. Gilbert Earl Woodall Sr., 70, of Farragut, a New Testament Christian and faithful, longtime member of Karns Church of Christ, peacefully and unexpectedly drew his last breath on the Lord's day, died March 7, 2004, at Fort Sanders NHC. Gilbert had been employed at Lockheed-Martin, ORNL X-10 for 43 years, retiring in 1997 as a process supervisor, in addition to serving his church as a deacon and adult Bible teacher. Preceded in death by his scriptural of his youth wife, Glenda Mingle Woodall of Knoxville in 1972, and his foster mother, Aileen Ott Lowe, called "Bo," of Murfreesboro in 1988. Gilbert leaves to honor his memory and follow his example, his scriptural wife of 30 years, Brenda and eight children, including Dr. Gilbert Woodall and Sarah of Brentwood, Glen Woodall of Florida, Gregg Woodall and Sherrye of Knoxville, Dr. Gary Woodall and Donna, of Knoxville, Susan Woodall Aragon and Steve, of Kentucky, Melody Woodall Cline and Ben, of Knoxville, Tony Woodall of Knoxville, and Miracle Woodall Wesson and Peter of Whitwell. He leaves 10 grandchildren, Sage, Ally, Stephanie, Tiffany, Benjamin, Jonathan, Tyler, Heather, Haley and baby John Isaac; his brother, "Sonny" Robert and wife, Jean, of Murfreesboro; and his cousin and mentor, Thomas Dill of Murfreesboro. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Friday, March 12, at Karns Church of Christ, Beaver Ridge Road, Karns, with Edwin Jones, minister, officiating. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Central Time Saturday, March 13, at Evergreen Cemetery in Murfreesboro. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.
