He was born November 16, 1919, in Roane Co., Tennessee to Lige Alexander and Kate Brackett. Mr. Alexander retired as foreman supervisor in chemical processing at Union Carbide Corporation at the K-25 plant after 37 years. He was a Corporal in the U.S. Army Infantry in Belgium and Germany during World War II. His hobbies included fishing and hunting and he enjoyed helping widows and the disabled. He attended First Baptist Church and was a member of Oak Ridge Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael L. Alexander in 1994. Survivors include, wife, Willie Alexander of Oak Ridge; granddaughter, Melinda Alexander-Sejas and her husband Renato, of Miami, Florida; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Sylvia Gordon of Ten Mile, Mary Kate Wicker and Janie Snyder of Loudon; brothers, Russell Alexander, Natchitoches, Louisiana and David Alexander of Sweetwater. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 26, 2004 at 8:00 PM at Weatherford Mortuary. A graveside service will be Tuesday at 3:00 PM at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Retired Computer Systems Analyst/ Martin Marietta Energy Systems/ K25. Member of Oak Ridge Alliance Church. Preceded in death by wife, Lavinia Fore in 1993 and brother, Edward Lovett Fore. WELCH, VIOLET SIMPSON - age 71 of Oak Ridge, formerly of Scott County, passed away Thursday, April 22 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. Born in Winfield, Tenn., January 29, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Ed and Etta Wilson Simpson. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oneida. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Taskel Welch; three sisters, Eve Weaver, Libby Tudor and Edith Burress; and two special brothers in law, Alton Blakely and Bill Burress. She is survived by three children, Linda Freels of Oak Ridge, Diana Reed of Knoxville and Jack Phillips, II of Oak Ridge; one sister, Myrtle Blakely Lewis of Somerset, Ky.; one brother, Edward Simpson of Mountain Home, Ark.; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren; special nieces and nephew, Pat Hair of Oak Ridge, Cynthia Hickerson of Nashville and Al Blakely of Somerset, Ky. She also leaves many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, April 25 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones and Son Funeral Home. ROBINSON, SARA BROCK LeHARDY - 81, of Oak Ridge died April 22, 2004 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Robinson was born July 10, 1922 in Bluefield, West Virginia to Mr. and Mrs. J.C. LeHardy. Sara was small in stature, but a very strong willed lady who was meticulous in speech, actions and her appearance. She graduated from University of Tennessee in 1943. She was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha, Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Kappa Phi sororities. She was also a member of the American Association for University Women and the Charles Dabney Society at the University of Tennessee. Mrs. Robinson worked briefly at one of the plants in Oak Ridge before her marriage to "Dr. Robbie." She was a loyal wife, mother and friend who because of her love for her husband and animals later helped Robbie by becoming the bookkeeper at the Oak Ridge Veterinary Hospital. She enjoyed home life, playing bridge, being with her friends in Daytime Dabblers, traveling with her husband and friends and eating out. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. L.K. "Robbie" Robinson on June 17, 1986 and a brother, Mr. W.G. Warren. Survivors include, a son, Jay Robinson and Brenda; nephews, Dr. and Mrs. W.E. Robinson of Oak Ridge, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Robinson of Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. and Mrs. Paul Carico, Jr. of Chattanooga; aunt, Mrs. Paul Carico, Sr. of Chattanooga; nieces, Mrs. Ruth Lyons of Chattanooga, Mrs. Judy Feagin of Alabama, and Mrs. Jane Maloy of North Carolina; brothers-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Robinson and Mr. John Robinson, all of Alabama; sister-in-law, Mrs. Artelle Warren of St. Petersburg, Florida. The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and care givers at Villa Five of Williamsburg Villas in Knoxville and all of those who cared for her at Transitional Care. HALL, JO ANN MORGAN - 60, of Oak Ridge died Saturday, April 24, at St. Mary's Residential Hospice in Halls. Mrs. Hall was born November 5, 1943 in Alcorn County, Mississippi to William Morgan and Jewell Baker Morgan. She was of the Baptist faith and an avid gardener. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray Hall in 1994 and an infant sister, Dorothy Louise Morgan in 1930. She was an active Church member and choir member. Other hobbies were oil and china painting, reading and was a strong advocate for the poor, helpless and needy. She had a great love for animals.
