Lee \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ >From The Oak Ridger 2 Apr 2004 Lucy Clowers Hicks, 90, of Knoxville, formerly of Madisonville, died Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at Walnut Manor Nursing Home in Clarksburg, Ohio, She was a member of Marbledale Church of God in Knoxville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde B. Hicks; her parents, Elisha and Polly Green Clowers; and by two brothers, Sylvester Clowers and James "J.L." Clowers. Mrs. Hicks is survived by two daughters, Ozell Bakley and Mae Moser, both of Knoxville; three sons, Robert Hicks of Harriman, Charles "Buddy" Hicks of Knoxville, and Alfred Hicks of Frankfort, Ohio; and by 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Ramsey of Knoxville and Virgie May Nelson of Sun City, Fla.; a brother, Francis Clowers, of Chattanooga; and by several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 4, 2004, in the chapel of Biereley-Hale Funeral Home in Madisonville with the Rev. Walter Isbill and the Rev. Lee Chorn officiating. Burial will be at Hiwassee Church of God Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Frank Patterson, 83, of Tompkinsville, Ky., died Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at Monroe County Medical Center in Kentucky. Born April 28, 1920, in Coalfield, he was the son of Fowler Hatfield Patterson and Arizona Daugherty Patterson. Mr. Patterson was a retired policeman and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Calvery Christian Assembly. He married Maurene Emberton on April 28, 1951, in Indianapolis, Ind. In addition to his wife, Mr. Patterson is survived by two sons, Joel Franklin Patterson of Lafayette and Stephen Ernest Patterson of Tompkinsville; his daughter, Evelyn Ruth Watson, of Tompkinsville; his brother, Ellis Patterson, of Oliver Springs; and by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The funeral was to be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 2, 2004, at Yokley-Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with Keith Spear and Tim White officiating. Burial will be at Ebenezer Cemetery. Marie M. Lee died Friday, April 2, 2004, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
